for my parents and for me. The Lord has moved mightily in our lives over the past 10 years or so, especially over the past 7 years, since I got genuinely, truly saved. and...

I suspect my sleep here is interrupted because people walk by and bang on the walls. just happened, not even 5 minutes ago, while I was in the kitchen. and...

I was an especially wretched person. I think a lot of it was brain damage...I was electroshocked (not voluntarily, and not just a little bit) and deliberately destroyed by psychiatrists. it happens. and...

by God's grace, they no longer have real power over me. my parents and I are close, and they're towards the tail end of their careers. well, mama's retired, but dad's going strong...

he got a promotion, etc. recently, and political as his work place is, as much as many people around here hate us, anyway (me, in particular)...

blah. just...blah.

so, anyway...please pray a hedge of protection around my parents+me. thanks.

Hi prayer and hopefully a little encouragement. One of my favorite passages. I say that for everything except Chronicles.

10 Jacob left Beersheba and set out for Harran. 11 When he reached a certain place, he stopped for the night because the sun had set. Taking one of the stones there, he put it under his head and lay down to sleep. 12 He had a dream in which he saw a stairway resting on the earth, with its top reaching to heaven, and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. 13 There above it[c] stood the Lord, and he said: “I am the Lord, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your descendants the land on which you are lying. 14 Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west and to the east, to the north and to the south. All peoples on earth will be blessed through you and your offspring.[d] 15 I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.” this was not just a random choice the Lord was leading Jacob and he didn't realize it. He does something strange and picks out a rock to rest on and of course this pictures our Lord on whom we rest. Suddenly heaven is open and there are angels who are ministering spirits ascending and descending. That which links heaven and earth, the ladder, pictures Christ who is standing at the top of the ladder with everything taking place under His care. The Lord tells Jacob that these things I will do for you. He will not leave us until He does what He has promised us. His word does not return void without doing everything He wants done.


16 When Jacob awoke from his sleep, he thought, “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I was not aware of it.” 17 He was afraid and said, “How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God; this is the gate of heaven.” Jacob awakes and realizes this is none other than Bethel, The House (Beth) of God (El). When we fear men we are not fearing God. When we are afraid we do not even recognize we have come to the Living God because we come at night(Spiritual darkness) and it is not until the Light begins to rid us of our darkness do we see and understand. Where you live is spiritual God's house and the gateway to heaven because each of us stand by that gate all day every day and one day we will be able to enter. When we do the Lord just like the vision is standing there to greet us and He is also ready for His return to this world.


18 Early the next morning Jacob took the stone he had placed under his head and set it up as a pillar and poured oil on top of it. 19 He called that place Bethel,[e] though the city used to be called Luz. He anoints the Rock, symbolic of paying respect to the Lord our King. He then sets the Rock up to make a pillar of rocks. The stack of rocks were set up by Israel everywhere the Lord had meet them or acted on their part. The pillars would be reminders to Israel and testimony to unbelievers that our God does not need to be carried because He can't walk, or needing us to do for Him in anyway shape of form.


20 Then Jacob made a vow, saying, “If God will be with me and will watch over me on this journey I am taking and will give me food to eat and clothes to wear 21 so that I return safely to my father’s household, then the Lord[f] will be my God 22 and[g] this stone that I have set up as a pillar will be God’s house, and of all that you give me I will give you a tenth.” Jacob's name means Schemer and here is his answers to God guanteed promises. "If God will" Do we not also do these same things when God has given us His Word and we have doubt? Guilty I plead too many times over my life and He is still faithful and merciful.


'And Jacob went on his way, and the angels of God met him. And when Jacob saw them, he said. This is God's host: and he called the name of that place Mahanaim' Two camps).—Genesis 32 :1-2 As we journey through this wilderness of sin there are things the Lord has provided that remain unseen. But there are times He raises the curtain between the seen and unseen and we find not one camp of angels but two camps of His angels ministering to us without our knowledge but always on the job.
