When you ask why and what is the reason in this situation you are not asking for wisdom, you are asking for knowledge. And yes we should ask questions but in this you are asking people and probably God also for answers that no human can give you and God has chosen not to. If God chooses not to give us an answer it is because we don't need that answer. We have no business trying to probe into things God has hidden.

We can learn some things about God however in His choosing Jesus's ancestors. We see the Savior is to come from the particular people He chose to reveal Himself to, the Hebrews. We see God does not restrict His salvation to only those people but through them to all nations. We see that God saves sinners. We see that God does the choosing.

Why did God choose to have Jesus born from the line of Judah? Judah was the son of Leah who Laban tricked Jacob into marrying. Jacob didn’t love her. He loved Rachael. Leah became Jacob’s wife through deceit. I don’t like Laban. He made his daughter marry a man that would never love her.

Why Judah I don't know.
But God's favor was with David who was a descendant of Judah.

God promised David and its fulfilled in Jesus as Jesus is forever.

True, but God didn’t just decide when David was born. He already knew from the beginning whose lineage Jesus would be from.

That is a good question to ask God, when we see Him.
Why are some born in poverty and some born rich?
Maybe He wants to keep some humble..

No doubt. These things are good to ponder though and sometimes there are people that could have some good insight based on their knowledge of the word and their spiritual growth.
Also, if I’m asking about God’s lineage, how would I possibly know about mine. My life isn’t written in the Bible lol.

With knowledge comes wisdom. If you search the scriptures they will tell you the reason why Jesus had to come through the line of Judah. It is not hidden from us as the Bible in Isaiah chapter 11 and Genesis 49:-10 gives the reason and the answer to Michelina question.

Genesis 49:1-10 gives the reason why Judah, being the fourth son of Israel became the tribe Jesus would come out of as being the root of David. You can read there the problems Israel (Jacob) had with his sons except Judah.

Vs.8 Judah, thou art he whom thy brethren shall praise: thy hand shall be in the neck of thine enemies; thy father's children shall bow down before thee. 9 Judah is a lion's whelp: from the prey, my son, thou art gone up: he stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an old lion; who shall rouse him up? 10 The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.

I have traced my ancestry back to the 1500's as some were good people and some not so good. It is from the good that we see God's favor in them. It's the same with Jesus within Mary and Josephs lineage. Some good, some bad as God found favor in Judah just like He found favor in Noah.

Just a suggestion, but read Genesis as a story, and try not to "study" it too much.
How about we settle in around Genesis 37 and discuss that for a bit. Let's pretend that we know each of Jacob's son's and their personalities.

It might be easier to think about Joseph and why not only his brothers despised him, but why even Jacob had to put him in his place. Do you recall when Joseph had a dream and what he told his brothers and his own Father? Although Jacob loved Joseph the most, even that dream was too much for him to take.

This really sets the stage for what happens next, and in part it is the "action" of Judah that Jacob remembers years later and gives his blessing in Genesis 49 and starts to really answer your question as to why Judah was chosen over Reuben.

We see that Reuben wants to save Joseph's life, and so he has his brothers throw Joseph into a pit instead of murdering him. We notice that Reuben then disappears, presumably to weep and mourn for his brother, which is noble. However, Judah, fearing for Joseph's life finds an alternative to the pit (death), which is to sell Joseph.

What we see here is that Judah actually acts to save his brothers life, unlike Reuben (the first born) who is in a state of remorse. While most don't think of repentance in the way I'm going to describe it, we see that Judah repents and saves his brother Joseph's life by taking him out of the pit, and selling him which keeps him alive.

If we look at Reuben, his remorse keeps him from repentance because he is too consumed with his grief. What we see through Judah in this incident is leadership and action that saves Joseph's life.

Lets talk about this chapter for a bit because there are some really good gems in this chapter. From there, we can move on to Tamar.

It was terrible. Tamar was not going to be able to survive on her own when her father died. Also, being that she was able to trick him into sleeping with her by disguising herself as a prostitute doesn’t say very much about him.

Then why mankind? As Jesus was chosen before the world began.

For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love

having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will,

Only God is good and no other God will be formed after Him. Therefore any other beings God forms can choose to sin. God knew this. He had a plan to deal with us.

He makes choices. Abram, Moses, the prophets, Mary, Paul etc.. Only the Spirit of God can search out the deep thoughts of the mind of the Spirit. He needed key people to work out HIS plan of purpose. He choose them by grace according to His purposes and of course His will prevailed.

Jesus didn't wear fine robes and live in a palace. And God didn't reveal the birth of Christ to the rulers and elite of Israel. Rather the angels of the Lord appeared at night to the poor shepards watching their flocks. Long work day.

Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God!
How unsearchable his judgments,
and his paths beyond tracing out!

The simple answer to your question is because God wanted to.
The LORD does whatever pleases him, in the heavens and on the earth, in the seas and all their depths.

We were all sinners shown grace and mercy. How then can one object to Judah before God because of his imperfection.

Ha, that's Genesis 38 which builds off 37. Meditate on chapter 38. Judah has lost not one of his sons, but his first two. He has one son left and he fears the loss of this son too. In his eyes, the common denominator is Tamar.

I have lost two of my children, so i understand the anguish and the desire for Judah to be overly protective of his last surviving son.

God looks at the heart of a man, and we see in chapter 37 that Judah is a leader in tough times. He is a man of action to preserve life. This same instinct is kicking in with his last son, but as you started, it doesn't make it right.

When the truth comes out about Tamar, he doesn't shift blame but rather he takes accountability.

Genesis 38:26 shows a man who is righteous in humility as he humbles himself.

Let's discuss chapter 37 a bit more, then we can focus more deeply in 38. From there, we can discuss the interactions between Joseph and Judah upon their reunion.

If we get the narrative right by putting ourselves into the story, then we will see clearly why Jacob blessed the line of Judah unto Jesus.

A person can actually have a lot of knowledge and no wisdom whatsoever. I agree though that wisdom does also require knowledge.
