this is what I think

I think it would feel uncomfortable to be one of the few among the many
who may have a different skin color.
it does not matter wheather your black or white red or yellow one that is of the different skin color would feel uncomfortable if the majority were of a different color .

and if you were the one you just might ask at least to one self is it because of my skin color ?

everyone is born with some form of racism

A while ago i saw a doctramentry in it was a class full of kindergardens. they were introduced to a nice good looking teacher she talked for a minuet then they were introduced to a large fat teacher and she talked for a minuet.

After the class the interview asked the kids which teacher they liked better. They all said the thin good looking one. Why cause the other was fat. So you see racism starts even at the youngest minds.

Perhaps this is a misunderstanding? And that our misunderstanding'sssss start young?

A Thought?
Does God want us White ot Yellow or whatever? Sure!
Does God want us 'fat'? Hardly!
Does God want us to be homosexual? Hardly, but this is racism of ANY form???

Now, what does the devil do? 'h'e has youngins (regardless of age  ) not knowing the differance between the two! Why does he do this? One of the best reasons is to pass (legislate) his evil agenda. Black & homosexual are NOT the same RACIAL evil! It would appear that Black Christians would cry this foul play from the housetops?? Racism? Get real friends!

Did you get that, 'i' thought not, (:fadein:) whatever?
One will, huh, Vic?

In other words, God hates 'sin'. All sin! This is NOT the person being fat, but just the evil of being fat. Black? God loves all BLACK, God hates sin, not the black person, but just the evil of the black person being fat. OK? No! Well then, include me too!!

Now, is God prejudice or a racist?
Hardly! Black has nothing to do with being fat, [OR RACISM] PERIOD!

Racism

I think that what goliwog was saying is that prejudice can exist from a very early age. Children react in accordance to what is familiar to them. At one stage, they may view someone who is obese or someone of a different race as different or inferior because they compare this individual to members of their own family. I read something about this once. The thought is, my family is good, and you are good if you are like my family. They have to be taught to respect differences among people and to understand the value of all people. On the other hand, some kids may reach out to someone who is different out of curiosity or whatever.

African American. I don't know, I think that it is just another way to express identity. I don't know, but do most white Americans connect or attempt to connect with their ethnicity as it relates to the country from which their original ancestors came, Italian, German, English, ect? There seems to be some pride associated with this. So I think that the term, African American, is just another attempt to connect with the past, and especially since most black Americans do not know the individual African countries that their ancestors came from. We were all lumped together. Many people even today think that Africa is just one big country, instead of realizing that it is a continent.

When I was growing up, of course, I encountered racism. I have been called a nigger and laughed at as a child. But interestingly, as a child I sought out the company of those children who were different, white children who were minorities in an predominately black school, at times. I don't really know why, maybe because they were different or in the minority and alone (from my perspective) I remember that my best friend in Kindergarten was a little white girl, one of few in our predominately black school. But an attempt was made to separate us (my perspective at the time, I don't really know), but we were placed in separate classes. I still remember the pain and confusion associated with it.

Black children in my day, were also taught to be racists towards white people in general and even towards black, towards ourselves. Do you know how many years it took for me to even entertain the possibility that Jesus was a person of color? The "white is right" syndrome was so engrained in our minds through TV, Sally, Dick, and Jane books, magazines, white clubs, ect. So it has taken a very long time to deal with and overcome this mentality. God bless.

I do not agree at all.

Maybe at a young age like the illustration you provided, but NOT from birth.

By five children are already conditioned.

I suspect you need to go on a diet! :fadein:

But, let me say it this way, no over weight person will be let alone by the Holy Spirits 'LEADING' in this day of increased knowledge! See Hosea 4:6 also Rom. 8:14.

This isn't about ME and MY weight :-? Why must you make assumptions and make this personal?

I'm merely pointing out that Biblically speaking, there is NOTHING sinful about being fat!

Being a glutton is NOT the same thing as being fat!

BEING FAT IS NOT EVIL OR A SIN.

Neither is being ugly.

I may be ugly but at least I'm stupid.

Has anyone ever noticed that in the bible God has never told anyone not to marry or stay away from certain people due to skin pigmentation?

Acts 10:34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

Acts 10:35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

Acts 17:26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

Racial prejudice due to skin color didn't come from God.

Hi, I am a serious dude, but I was just kidding with you on your weight.
I do not know you from Adam, as the saying goes. But the post sounded kind of heavy? (tongue in cheek)

But the rest of the post I stand by! The body is the temple of the Holy Ghost. And [any non evil excess] is bordering on sin. Even Paul's preaching until midnight & then walking 19 miles, if my memory is correct?
He must have been in good shap, but I would have a hard time making the trip!

And 1 Cor. 9:27??
"But I keep under my body, [and bring it into subjection:] least that by any means, when I have preached to others, [I myself should be a castaway.]"
By the way, the Word in verse 25 is .. "TEMPERATE IN ALL THINGS"

---Elijah

PS: And a [sin] that [so easily] beset's us?? You will NEVER convince me that too much food is not one of them!

Fat is not sin 1Tim 4 v 8
For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things...
In other words you dont have to be fit.

also
cor 8v8,
And yes just for the record I am fat :biggrin LOL (and black)(and white)

This isn't about ME and MY weight Why must you make assumptions and make this personal?

need i remind u of your first post on this topic.... You told me i couldnt get over racism. Why did you make an assumtion about me? When Your neighter one or the other your opinion becomes inhuman.

 Hi again.

The comment I made to you not getting over racism, wasn't an assumption just for assumption sakes, it was based soley on this statement by you:
goliwog man said:
Many of them arent racist they just hate blacks
I didn't understand the statement, and you later explained it.

Elijah assumed that I need to go on a diet based on the fact that I said "BEING FAT IS NOT EVIL OR A SIN." ...I was merely stating Biblical truth....by doing so makes me fat?

Truth is, I am overweight, but that has no bearing on my position that being fat isn't a sin. (the Bible tells me that, not my scale!)There is a HUGE difference between being fat and being a glutton...you can be one without the other. I know skinny people who are total gluttons and I know overweight people who eat very little.

Hope I cleared this up.

And I sincerely apologize if I offended you with my first post in this thread.

Adam. Did Eve make me do it??? We make excuses, huh? Never like to own up to our 'own' failures. (ALL OF US!)

Now: Bottom line! Say that I am over/weight. And I am living in this time/frame of today's REAL world, that of Knowledge being increased? (Fat people die at an earlier age than temperate eating ones do) See Hosea 4:6.

And while being overweight, lets say 5'8" & #190 there'bouts?
and then is when I surrender my 'will' to Christ, OK? At this time, I am PERFECT! (IN CHRIST Rom. 8:1) But LORD, I AM STILL FAT!! Now, what comes next after being converted???? Baptists say what? O.S.A.S.

But, God does not teach such stuff!! Period! He NEVER leaves one in a 'bad' example position to ALL people, especially the kids that you LOVE! Mom, Dad, or whoever? He, as in Rom. 8:1 LEADS the ones who will be led. Sure, the sin that so easily 'tempts' us is hard to master, but because we [love], we must [do our part!] Excuses are not repentance! Again, Phil. 4:13 & 2 Cor. 12:9.

Let me say this!? [Preachers] who are over weight, [FAT], are REAL STUMBELING BLOCKS! (white ones, huh? ) They need to get their own lives in order before they preach to others!
But, how many of us by being a bad example to our children, grandchildren & such, have shortened their lives (or are shortinging them) by our VERY BAD EXAMPLE?? And sin is sin, any sin has & will do satans trick! And, if I was dead & gone say ten years ago, you would not be.. being 'pricked' by the Holy Spirit about this post of today, huh?

Read again Hebrews 12:1-4. This we must do. 'Ye have [not yet] resisted unto blood, [striving against sin]." v. 4.

The problem still is racism and domination.

If you happen to live in an area/community where there is harmony between races, count your blessings. Most are not. In many ways, white people are still just as racist and hateful as always against black people. Blacks are the ones with legitimate concerns. The societal structure itself is still evil. I can't blame a black person for being suspicious or even hateful of me because of who I am. It's a problem white people caused and its naive to think that blacks should be over it by now.

Same with women. Women still make less than men, we still have our own ways of being sexist and putting them. Same with gays, we're nowhere near giving them the equality they deserve. :Fade-color (Yep, you all will get at least one progay comment every week) :Fade-color Same with other minority groups as well.

I, myself, am an evil wasp, a white anglo saxon protestant, and a male. Because of growing up in a prejudice and racist and sexist society, I have latent racism, sexism and homophobia embedded in my psyche. I wish it wasn't there. Sometimes it comes out in embarassing ways or embarassing jokes. I need to repent of all of it and be cleansed from my racism, sexism and homophobia.

I only hope the blacks, the women, the gays and all of the poor and oppressed in our society can someday forgive us...

Is "its because I'm black isnt it" a racist statement

Who is making excuses Elijah?

You really believe "being fat" is a sin? Do you not see the difference between being fat and being a glutton?

If this is how you truly believe, can you please point me to Scripture to support the claim that being fat is a sin?

Thank you.

People hate me because I am always right. My wife says that I am a "know it all" and she is never wrong.

It must be true!

Isn't that sweet?:biggrin

If fat people are a race then "know it alls" must be a race too!

I say to those who can't get over their prejudice against fat people and "know it alls"...

:biggrin Repent!
