Which is the most important Gift?

Which is the most important gift? I think all gifts are very important and having the same magnitude of importance (maybe).

But today, as we can see it seems that some are no longer necessary. Culture and the modern 'todays' seem to have weakened and suppressed some of the gifts...that applying then may seem absurd and old-fashioned.

Is that a gift, really?
Oftentimes it's hard to love others the way we should. So if someone can love unconditionally it's either the result of a decades long emotional growth, or it's a gift of the Holy Spirit.

The Bible lists fruits and gifts of the Spirit. All Christians should evidence fruits of the Spirit.

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control." Galatians 5:22-23a NIV

Gifts of the Spirit are different from the fruits. Holy Spirit gives different gifts to different people, as He chooses:

"To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues." 1 Corinthians 12:8-10 NIV

Since God is the same yesterday, today and forever then also are all His gifts. All the gifts of the Holy Spirit work together as there is none greater than another as they all work together as one in the body of Christ.
It's only man that decides to change those things of God

Chapter 13:#
And though I bestow all my goods to feed the apoor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing

But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord (Joshua 24:15 KJV).

We believe when God is Glorified (Matthew 5:16 NKJV), when Jesus is Magnified (Philippians 2:9-10 NKJV), when People are Edified (Ephesians 4:11-13 NKJV), when Faith is Fortified (Ephesians 6:10-11 NKJV), and when Ministry is Multiplied (1 Chronicles 4:10 NKJV) this is the most important gift.

This got me thinking for ages. It is so true...and should be a gift. It takes a miracle to love and truly love. And agape love is nearly castles in the air - pipedream

Love is the greatest gift. Classik you said it! It is almost a miracle to truly love someone. At most Christian weddings I hear people recite their vows.
1 Corinthians 13
The Gift of Love :kiss:study:yes

Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Love never ends. But as for prophecies, they will come to an end; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will come to an end. For we know only in part, and we prophesy only in part; but when the complete comes, the partial will come to an end.

When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; when I became an adult, I put an end to childish ways. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then we will see face to face. Now I know only in part; then I will know fully, even as I have been fully known. And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love.
yeasr later. :bricks:pray Help! Can we give the gift of Love? Always?

Well, I know which is NOT the most important:

"...greater is one who prophesies than one who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets, so that the church may receive edifying."

"...since you are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek to abound for the edification of the church."

(1 Corinthians 14:5,12 NASB)

It's not that tongues is not an important gift, it's simply not as important a gift as one that builds someone else up. So if someone is seeking a gift, the more important one is the one that can build up the church.

I found it. John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. That is the WORD! The greatest gift is to give yourself to another even when it is not convenient.
