Featherbop in all of what you said dismissed your prior comment. Wheather or not you believe that is neither here or there. You can not just come and make such statements with out elaborating on it, and then be surprised when someone makes comments, questions or rebuttles your remarks. But I do have remarks about this comment.

What I've been talking about in this thread was that I'm not going to become theistic or religious through emotional feelings. Emotions have uses. Forming beliefs is not one of them. Or at least, I need something more reliable than that.

I bolded the quote where I want to make my comments on. Some people have emotional experiences when they come to know the Lord. I've seen old men cry at the alter. I've seen teens who have cried at the alter, I do not doubt their emotional experience. Featherbop, there are also others who come to know the Lord that do not have the emotional experience as the others do.

But this I know for sure. One can not grow in the Lord unless they know the Lord, they begin to have a relationship with Him. A person must fellowship with the Lord to understand His ways. How does one do that? Through prayer, reading His Word and having fellowship with His people. You don't need to have an emotional experience to know that you are the Lords. But this is certain, the Lord will change your heart if you give Him the chance. He will bless your life and fill your pain with joy. And in your own way, you'll be emotionally bound to the reassurance you have in His love, because of the testimony of your past. Every person I have ever met that was genuinely touched by the Lord has a testimony that follows.. Featherbop, what is your testimony? What do you have to offer that the Lord can work on? How about the simple stuff first, your sins? All it is Featherbop is a simple prayer asking Jesus to forgive you. Share in His love and joy, make that commitment tonight. You must draw near to God before God will draw near to you. All you need to do is raise your hands to him, Featherbop Jesus' hands are already extended, all you have to do is grab on my friend, and one day each of us will break bread in heaven with you. Embracing you for making the right decision. . .

Would you do that tonight? I pray that you do

In His Love

Featherbop in all of what you said dismissed your prior comment.

What I said is consistent. The heart, the emotional part of the self, is not reliable nor consistent for determining what to believe in or accept as fact.

Some people have emotional experiences when they come to know the Lord. I've seen old men cry at the alter. I've seen teens who have cried at the alter, I do not doubt their emotional experience.

I don't think anyone doughts emotional experiences. An emotional experience is not evidence of or a reason to believe in something. If I thought emotions validated what I believed, I could accept any religion equally on that basis. There would be no way to tell what is fact. Using evidence to make conclusions is done everyday. And it is reliable. What if police did not use evidence to figure the facts of crimes committed? It wouldn't work. Same for pretty much anything. We don't determine facts and truth through faith and emotions, except it seems for those who try when it comes to their religion. But it still doesn't work.

Would you do that tonight? I pray that you do

About as much as you are going to accept Allah or Thor or Vishnu. :tongue

Take care,

Why does it say "123 Christian Pro" under Featherbop's ID over in the left hand column of the threads, if he refuses to accept Christ? :o :-?

Does it read that way for all the people here who refuse Christ, who only come on to make anti-Christ remarks on the forums here? :-?

Well since this is a Christian Forum, I guess whoever signs on here is just automatically marked as a Christian. But than again there is a person here who is marked as not a christian :-? I also get confused sometimes at first, but you can certainly spot the non christians here without a problem after reading their posts.

I'm assuming the title is based off of the number of posts the person contribues. Thus if you contribue "x" number of posts, you are given a certain title. It is not individually given by the Mods or the Admins.
