Is gravity the same all over the earth = because the earth does not move = would it be the same all over the earth if the earth moved - twinc

it doesn't, somehow all the canon, artillery pieces, bombs and also missiles that have to be adjusted for the rotation of the earth on its axis is wrong. imagine that,. I don't know how we managed to level our enemy and they us a times.

Your website link isn't working so maybe you could just answer? Do you believe the earth doesn't move, like it's the center of the universe and everything else moves around us? Is that what you're saying?

The movement of the earth does not mean that gravity is the same everywhere. The gravity in any given place is determined by a number of factors. The most important factor is the distance from the center of the earth, which is obviously not the same everywhere. There is more gravity on the shore of the Dead Sea than there is on top of Mt. Everest, simply because Mt. Everest is many miles farther from the center of the earth than the Dead Sea. Other things that affect gravity are the thickness of the earth's crust, distance and direction (as compared with the center of the earth) from the moon and distance and direction from the sun. Those last two change not only with your location, but also with time.

And notice that nations fire spacecraft off as close to the equator as they can, and eastward, to gain as much momentum from the Earth's rotation as they can. It's very noticeable boost, and would not exist if the Earth was not rotating on its axis.

im surprised no one has done any websites dedicated to the old and unused launch facilities. I have been looking at former aviation sites. one of them still used by usaf for the cape as a tracking station.

LOL, as interesting as that would be, what's fascinating me even more is that after all those space flights and all the other things that were accomplished in the 20th century, here we are in the 21st century actually discussing whether or not the Earth is the stationary center of the universe!

Well the earth does move and I'm gonna say no, gravity is not the same throughout the four corners of this planet.

This is just my opinion of course so please don't ask me to explain.

or even some others might come here and troll, flat earth.

LOL. I was thinking about those guys too! "The Flat Earth Society"! When I was in high school a couple of my friends joined that society just so they could privately laugh at people's reactions when they said they were part of it! (Both of them geniuses, members of MENSA, and one is even famous today!) Trolls of my past life, they were. :biggrin2

the sun is the centre of the solar mass and the earth the centre of the Universe [mass] - it seems you did not google [Fixed earth] as suggested for a clear explanation or www.galileowaswrong.com for an even clearer explanation - twinc

yet that group buys evolution, but weren't talking about them.

the earth was, it seems, flat/even/smooth/level before the global flood - twinc

It's enough to reduce the effect of gravity slightly, but not enough to throw people off the earth.

If the earth was flat and smooth before the flood, what made the rivers flow that are mentioned in Genesis chapter 2?

Actually it turns out the computer I was on earlier was having problems, so like I said I couldn't get your link to work. I've looked at it now, but really, they sound a little nuts to me. Just my opinion based only on the little that I had time to read though. I've never heard of any established mainstream serious scientists ever talk about or accept this idea.

Besides, all motion is relative anyway. So anything traveling in the same direction and speed that you are traveling, to you is motionless and anything traveling at a different speed or direction is in motion, relative to your body anyway. People understand this now, so they understand that nothing in space is actually motionless. It's all relative. As for the earth spinning, this is a proven fact. If the earth were not spinning, geosynchronous satellites (among a lot of other things) wouldn't be possible.

That's a pretty bold statement to make without providing any reasoning for it! Do you have any kind of evidence at all, beyond simply the ignorance of the people of the time on these matters who may have referred to the earth as flat only because that was all they could comprehend from their limited vantage point?
