Is youtube a reliable business venture?

I have recently joined youtube in that I now know how to make videos and successfully have subscribers but,I'm curious as to if it is "trust worthy" in partnership and "fair pay".
I have only thought of monetizing some of my videos for money(going to to try to work it in a fashion that I get money for myself particularly original material I may post that doesn't involve the bible but, also money for churches I attend or am a member of) overall I'm simply looking for some "critiques" as to all in all if it's "worth it" to partner with youtube for money?

I have no answer for you, but many have made it pay for themselves. Not sure how long anyone has made a career out of it, but some seem to have supported themselves by it for a while.

That was a very well thought out answer,thank you,yeah it's particularly about "advertising" and "popularity" course to even be "approved" for it "I must" meet a requirement of "1,000 subscribers" and other requirements in about the frame of a month,"sounds tough",for now I'm trying to at least "get on the map" so to speak until I think I have enough meet requirements, I don't know.
See for one I'm Baptist and don't feel "comfortable" using bible related stuff such as my songs I've wrote for God to be used "for money" though I realize I can give God 10% as it should be but don't know if that would be "right" to do...

I'm a musician. Semi-pro. I've been paid to play in Church, on a regular basis, and been paid well. I'll tell you there's absolutely nothing wrong with sharing what God's Blessed you with. IF that contributed to it generating income for you, that's probably about as good an avenue as exists anymore. It used to be you could cut a record, sell a bunch, and expect to make decent money from it. Those days are long gone.

Also, YouTube has become decidedly unfriendly to Christians. Music probably flies under their radar better than any other form of ministry.

I think you should go for it! What do you have to lose? Do seek the leading of the Holy Spirit, of course.

Thank you,good to talk to someone with "experience" in this field of business,and true I got nothing to lose after all I haven't been on anyone's radar as a celebrity or any big thing like that so if I do my best then I'll just see what the results are good or bad.

Well I have a job too that pays 8 dollars an hour and probably going to get full time but some side money would be helpful with either pay rate.

I'm not a YouTube, but perhaps it depends. Probably not by itself, but if you can utilize it successfully as an asset, even if it makes you a few bucks extra on the side, then it's beneficial.

good to know because ideally I am keeping my channel as "family friendly" as possible even mainly subscribing to "original owners" of videos particularly "companies" like disney and dreamworks,not quite "on the map" so to speak but at least I'm "stressing" family appropriate type videos,I even try to only "like" family or Christian based videos that are "uplifting","funny","bible learning influenced" or all around "decent"(no nudity,or questionable influence video)

I agree wholeheartedly with this Brother.. and can add, I feel it is an actual requirement to.

Anytime we are blessed by God (or given revelation) ...we are to share it, this requires action on our part.

To receive from the Lord Blessing or revelation and then not share it, would be to create a pond with it. We are clearly called to let rivers of life flow through us...

We are a conduit, not a dam.

This is why it is better to give than to receive. ..right?

To answer the op, personally, I could not would not trust YouTube because it is of the world. I would not pursue it unless led by God to do so.

I am well aware that many people are making big bucks through it. But! To make it work for an income would take embracing itwith very much time...

I do know that God is using YouTube a lot. He is all over youtuy Lol!

Self publishing intellectual property is a must these days.
Promotion dollars are reserved for those who already have a huge fan base and success.
Even writers must self publish and get thousands of people to read their books before a publishing house will touch them.
Music isn't any different...and usually worse. Because of the ease with which people can bootleg music today the money is gone from the music industry.
Television and Movies have gone from traditional outlets to Netflix and Amazon. People still go to movie theaters...but the Cyber relm has still conquered the place.

If you do it mostly just because you enjoy it. Give fans what they want over and above the norm. Create a huge fan base to where everyone in America knows all about you... you might earn enough to buy a new car.

Francesca Batestelli isn't rich. Her parents work for a living just like everyone else...so does Francesca. (They live here in Nashville... been to their house etc)

I think our pastor makes more money....most people do.

You can monetize your videos and earn a little cash, just don't expect to make a full living off it unless you gain a massive amount of subscribers. But I don't think there's anything wrong with monetizing. Money is hard to come by in this economy, gotta earn it where you're able.
