Last night a tornado tore a path of destruction through Nashville TN.
I'm currently sitting here waiting for power...but dry.

I live in a large apartment complex surrounded by other apartments and across the street from a hospital near the interstate....so us being without power is a huge thing.
Most of East Nashville on into the next county was destroyed.

I just watched pictures and listened to reports that many places I've built in the past are gone.

If I can get power I'll try to get to work later this morning. But I'm not sure if I will be working alone or not.
The weather is warm enough...but the rain is still falling and I want a cup of coffee.
No morning coffee makes me sad and sleepy. I went looking for my butane stove and can't find it. (Got a stovetop percolator...found it)
*Sigh*

My apartment is across the street from the hospital...a primary place for utilities to restore first. But if they get power then I get power.
The roads are all closed or gridlocked around my place. My place itself is fine...but I'm surrounded by damage.

Are you on generator power then or are you able to get on the Internet a different way? Either way I'm really glad that you're okay and prayers be with you and the rest of your family and friends. :)

No...I got power converters for my drill batteries.
I've traveled to another county to get data services for my cell phone. The data services in my area are really dead or over extended to where I can't get data on my phone.

The sub station and transmission lines got torn up. The road is closed...a major thing.

Yeah I know that now lol because you already told me in PM. Unless of course you were just saying that for everybody else's benefit. :)

how is it going now? Is your power back yet?
Did you manage to get to work?
The city asked us not to go to work.
I'm currently sitting in a 5guys eating a burger and fries and surfing the web trying to find information. Power was out when I left.
I bought a propane cook stove and a few bottles so I can cook dinner and maybe coffee in the morning.
I'm heading out in the morning. Don't want to hang out there for two days in a row.

Wow,.. bummer. I could always give you some entertainment,.. it's been quite awhile since I had an audience. :wink In other words hear ye, hear ye!! I'm living proof that God does in fact have a rather weird and twisted sense of humor. :P (Otherwise I don't believe that He could have created me LOL!!! XDD!!!)

Btw, I have no idea what I'm talking about half the time so don't ask. :rofl2

Mine is the little blue marker on the right where it says "Hermitage".

There are several pictures out there of damage...like the frame of a tractor trailer rig stripped and upside down on top of Donelson Christian Academy.
The car that is surrounded by primary power distribution poles...all those are right in my neighborhood.

Where will you be heading tomorrow? What will you be cooking for dinner? I wouldn'teven know where to buy one of those propane stoves. Perhaps a camping shop?

I'm going to work...
We don't have power there except for a generator anyway. We have been trying to install the service equipment but it's been raining non-stop. So at least there I can microwave whatever...bring a coffee pot and water... whatever I want.
I can't shower but I can get a ho-bath at the apartment.
