Hi!

I'm Kimberly, 20 years old, in the army deployed to Afghanistan..
I found this website, just thought I would check it out. It would
be awesome to have other Christians to talk to! Sometimes it
can be hard feeling like you are one of only a few Christians,
especially when you aren't around alot of females at all.

I'm a new Christian, I have been saved for about 6 months..
I made the decision after sev. months of praying
and thinking about it.. than I realized I can't be
one foot in the world and one foot for Him..
I need to give him my WHOLE heart..
best thing that has EVER happened to me.
I definitely realize what God has done for me,
and this new creation that I am in Him. It
is also one of the hardest things, but it's way worth it..
especially when you think of all that Jesus went through
for us.

I have been deployed for about 7 months..
about 3 months ago my best friend was killed
while she was home for R&R..
and it was the hardest thing that I have
ever gone through.. ever..
but with the Lord's strength, I was able
to get through it.. I FULLY depended on
Him and it was so comforting how much
I felt His presence through the whole thing.
We had a memorial service here for her,
which I spoke at.. and I am usually
a quiet, shy person.. so for me to be able
to do something like that.. it was ALL Him.

I hope to meet new people, and make new friends..
I don't really have any.
I mean, I do back home.. but here,
it's hard. Now that Ashley is gone, I
don't have anybody.. I do have guy friends
(I am the only female in my shop)
but they aren't Christians, and for
appearance wise, etc.. I keep theat
distant and I am just very careful.

Ever since I have become a Christian,
all I want to do is talk about God..
and the bible..lol so i am excited for
my chance to do it on this message board,
and actually get some response back..

Here, everyone just looks at like I'm
crazy and like they don't care..
hopefully with prayer, they will
come around.

Okay, well this is long enough but thanks for reading :)

Hi Kimberly, welcome to the site! I'm so glad that you found us :biggrin

Praise the Lord for your new-found faith :clap I pray that you find encouragement and friendship here with us, and that your time in service in Afghanistan will be a blessing to you and those in contact with you :pray

Thank you! :) It's nice to meet you..

being deployed has definitely helped increase my faith as far as having ALOT of time to read, study and pray.. but then again, I feel like I am missing out on the fellowship aspect..
I know that the Lord will take care of me though and He will use me according to His will

i will pray for kim and i hope that find a good chaplain that really loves the lord, Bagram air base when i was there by the four courners had a chapel and i believe they had two when i left country, if ur in an fob ask ur chain of command to request a chaplain to visit, they can do that, some will come by volunatry, and they maybe some laypreachers in the ao with u just ask, i started a small study in theater with a few others when i was in assadabad,
and welcome

Hello Kimberly!
I am new here too but not new to the faith. I was also a soldier but I didn't actually fight in a war. Too young for Vietnam and too old for the rest but I know what it is to not know what your life will be like from one moment to the next. A soldiers mind has to be on such things and ready for any contingiency.
The same can be said for a true christian, or should be. We are at war as well but thanks to God we have the only good and proper armor.

I look forward to seeing you around and seeing how you are doing from day to day. Peace and God be with you!! :pray :)

Thank you! Y'all have all been so welcoming and friendly.. :) Definitely
good to have other Christians to talk to..
and you're right, the Armor of God.. in Ephesians.. I read that
all the time..Being deployed has been awesome because I have
more time to be in the Word, study and pray...I bought the bible
study progrom.. Logos Scholer's Library.. it is awesome..
definitely has been helpful

See y'all around!

Greetings KimberlyB0112!
< and Greetings to all in thread >

I smell the pure milk of the word upon your breath, newborn in Christ!
And I like your saying about men. It applies to Christian men (me too) also, of course, but I'm grampa age and toothless so no worries there. :approve < well almost -- i have 6 of my own left > Having expressed that peculiar thought so strange to the ear, I would also respond to Welcome all your encouragements and admonishments as it pleases God to deliver them to me especially and also to us.

Greetings and Peace to you. That the peace and firstlove you have found remain as truly as He has said, "I will never leave nor for forsake thee."

The Taliban were founded in southern Afghanistan by Mullah Mohammad Omar, a member of the Pashtun tribe who became a mujahedeen commander that helped push the Soviets out of the country in 1989. In 1994.

Taliban is a fundamentalist Islamic force in Afghanistan.

The Taliban have always been citizens of Afghanistan.

They, unlike us are defending their own country.
