Hi guys,

You know, I was just reading through some political news feeds. Kari Lake, Lauren Boebert, Marjorie Greene, Matt Gaetz, etc. I actually began to see a very, very large similarity to any of them, and about a half dozen other Republican leaders with watching an episode of SNL. I believe that some good cut/paste artist could put together at least a month's worth of episodes of good old ribald jokes for the program. Of course the amazing part would be that the 'actors' in this case aren't joking. They actually believe the funny and weird stuff that they say.

Anyway, not necessarily looking for any responses here. I was just this minute looking through the feeds and the similarity just jumped at me.

Well, I guess it's the 'new republican' introduced to the American politics. I mean, right now there's a circus going on in the HoR to get a speaker elected. Hey, this might tie Rep. Bank's record in 1855. I guess the republican party really is the 'conservative' party. They're still doing things like they did in 1855.

I'm telling you, this is much funnier than any SNL skit and it's on during primetime so you don't have to stay up late to watch it.

While I'm at it, did JLB run off after the whipping he took in the midterms, or is he still around.

As a retiree, I can tell you that isn't happening. Remember Fox does not equal truth.

Most employers have absolutely no control over 'what' a 401k employee's funds are invested in. So you really can't get from here:
Under the new regulation, a retirement account fund manager or employer must continue to pledge to prioritize the interests of retirees, a longstanding requirement, but fiduciaries will now also be allowed to include factors like climate change and other ESG considerations in their analyses and decision-making processes.

As far as some employer wanting to spend your investment money on what some consider 'woke' investments.

Fund managers can have some control over where funds are invested, but the owner of the fund is always ultimately in control. I know that in all of my investment decisions, and I am retired and fairly heavy in stock investments, I can always see what my money is invested in and always have the authority to order a sell on any and all stocks, despite what some investment manager might suggest.

Let's keep in mind here that the MAGA crowd, and it's true of other groups also, generally aren't really smart enough to figure out how to work around or with, most of today's legislation. Heck, they can't even get a consensus on who should be their speaker in a body made up predominantly of their people. The joke show continues. Tune in tomorrow for more of the same. I'm not aware that Europa is moving away from green to coal. What gave you that idea? I know that right now, they are having to bring back some coal energy because of loss of other sources. No nation, as far as I know, is yet ready to go full green, but it's still a viable energy alternative that the majority of the industrialized nations are working to move towards. Have you got a link or something about the matter?

There are some news sources that don't do a very good job of explaining things that they report on apparently, if that's your understanding of what's going on in Germany.

Germany is firing up some coal powered plants because they foolishly already set dates and limits for their nuclear power generation and have decided to no longer use it. Because of that loss, yes, they are reopening some old coal fired plants, but it is a temporary, as in a few years, stop gap measure to be able to continue to provide power, between the shut down of the nuclear production that they have now and have been using for years, and the green energy that is still coming. For some reason, Germany doesn't like nuclear power generation as a means to produce electricity.

However, let's be clear that this is Germany and not Europa. The majority of, including Germany, is still 'working' towards greener energy production. The Ukraine/Russia problem has thrown Germany for a loop, energy wise, because Russia has cut off, or threatened to cut off, the energy that they send to Germany, and it is quite a large percentage of their energy needs.

I went and looked that up and I'm not actually clear on why you think that's a bad thing. What the truth is that the NHS has decided to not lump youth gender care and services under one department that was the largest such facility in the world, that does all this gender research and patient work. Rather, they have decided to allow gender issues to be handled by local doctors. From the article:

How do I know this,my reads and all coworkers were audited by them and also my job changed because they permitted a sale .

You simply can't install your own solar grid and sell back without them .that's a tangent on how that shaftery is.

The debate on that was over private grids wanting to block it and be collecting state money to build solar farms and charge and make more money at retail rate versus buying power back at whole sale rate or retail rate .fpl sells or buys power from Orlando at whole sale per contracts .that is cheaper then retail rates per kwh
