It’s cancer! Surgery! Ugh ? I’m somehow floating through it because of a mix of faith their relatively upbeat attitude about it and…

Honestly? It’s not my body. So I ask that y’all pray ? for my dad ? and his overall health and healing.

Dear Lord please let CE father be healed of cancer. I pray that it is not spread to other parts of the body and can be totally removed. Let him be free from this disease. Let him be healthy and happy, totally cancer free and have a long happy life with his family. In Jesus mighty name, Amen.

Dear God, our Heavenly Father,
We come before You today with a heavy heart, lifting up this man's father who is facing kidney cancer and surgery. We ask for Your healing touch upon him, that You would guide the hands of the doctors and nurses who will be caring for him. We pray for wisdom for the medical team and for strength and courage for his father as he undergoes treatment.
Despite the difficult circumstances, we thank You for the good prognosis and the availability of advanced treatment options. We ask that You would provide peace and comfort to this family during this trying time, and that they would feel Your presence and love surrounding them.
In the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, we pray,

He’s in good spirits. Surgery is scheduled for next week. Ugh ?

I’m thankful ? that a series of doctors visits and scans following a back injury led to the discovery of the kidney cancer. Maybe this sounds weird or…I dunno ?‍…

But I see God’s handiwork. Providence. If he hadn’t injured his back and if his doctors hadn’t been so thorough his cancer would have remained undetected for longer. Eek ?

Surgery is today. Eek ? could possibly be happening right now actually.
He seemed to be in good spirits yesterday. I gifted him for Father’s Day early because of his situation, and he seemed happy ? with the gesture.

They’re both wonderful people and they’re both handling this rather well. Their ability to weather this storm ️ is helping me deal with it too.

Mama visited him. She said he’s doing better than they expected but is understandably in pain. He’s hoping to be discharged tomorrow.
Emo side note: I wanted to visit him but he declined. Mama explained that he was comfortable with her there not so much offspring. I think ? I get it…

He’s been discharged. The doctors ran tests. I hope ? that mama will tell me if anything major is happening.

I spoke to him briefly. He seemed tired. Hospital stay…not fun. I’m glad he’s going home today.

Dad’s back at their place. Right now the doctors are saying that the surgery is pretty much the end of treatment…no need for chemo radiation etc. I’m thankful ? but also cautiously optimistic. They’ll be keeping close tabs on him so…we shall see basically.


I praise The Lord for His love and mercy. Somehow dad had that tumor with no major problems. If he hadn’t had an injury and scans etc…

The situation could have gotten worse. A lot worse.

He had a follow up appointment recently. So far so good! I praise God for His mercy and love!
