Summer Vacation !

Do you have a summer vacation story you can share ?

When I was a boy of @12 we took a day trip to Six Flags Over Georgia, my 5 year old male cousin joined us, my mom and dad on the trip. We enjoyed all the rides at the park and after leaving the park we stopped at a roadside burger joint for some food. When we came out to load up for home upon trying to start the car my dad found out the car battery was dead, now what?

The burger joint was not far from a down hill run on the road so dad enlisted me and my cuz to get out and help him push the car so it would go down the hill. My mom was behind the steering wheel and popped the clutch, three on three don't you know, after the car started down the hill and the car came to life and was now running and we were homeward bound!

Upon returning home dad went to Western Auto and bought a new battery .

I make memories with Jaci. She remembered a pink colored old apt tour I took her to when I started teaching her to drive. I took her to chimney rock and all over Ashville. Her mom and then bf coordinated that with us.

I could but my wife probably couldnt chimney rock was too much for her .I was out walking my grandchild . stairs got her she tried to shuffle and I told her pace yourself you haven't been in the mountains in a while .

look up Petravice park in white city ,Florida it's an old nursery that was once a home for a WW2 vet who sold palm trees

Laurel Falls is another good hike in the Great Smokies National Park , but seems to be closed right now .

I normally don't go down the St Lucie River but one can boat from the inlet south of that to white city park . btw that river history deserves a thread given a pastor started a colony there and his son was the first St Lucie county tax collector ,courthouse clerk .he is buried not to far from my church and the Petravice family not to far from that park .

been to the Cascades but never there
