What I see in your post JLB is you see Christ's body His Church as a failure. Unable to fill the earth with His Glory
I'm sorry you see it that way.
19 Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, 20 and that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before, 21 whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began. Acts 3:19-21
I just believe the Bible and I won't pretend that the world has been restored, when clearly it has not, and won't be until it has, when Jesus Christ is sent from heaven to restore all things.
Our hope is in Him.

Now if you weren't so scared of preterism you could consider that perhaps Jesus' plan for restoring the world, which was in need of a savior, was by fulfilling Judaism's messianic prophecy and introducing Christianity to the entire world. Why should the Master do the work of restoration when He has billions of children to do His will? If you believe something in the world isn't right, then fix it. Make the world better for Jesus, that is what He taught in the parable of the talents.
BTW,the term rapture is in the Latin translation of the bible.
Yes sir, I sent her a PM that stated that.
No disrespect intended towards anyone, but I have always found that the well the word rapture isn't in the bible to be a very thin argument. Their logic runs very thin because a huge number of words don't appear in the Bible, including the word "Bible." Because God's Word was originally written in Hebrew and Greek, one could truthfully say that no English words are found in the Bible. Let's take a look at 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 in the original Greek:
4:16 oti autos o kurios en keleusmati en fwnh arcaggelou kai en salpiggi qeou katabhsetai ap ouranou kai oi nekroi en cristw anasthsontai prwton 4:17 epeita hmeis oi zwntes oi perileipomenoi ama sun autois arpaghsomeqa en nefelais eis apanthsin tou kuriou eis aera kai outws pantote sun kuriw esomeqa 4:18 wste parakaleite allhlous en tois logois toutois/(Greek)
I don't see the dead in Christ rising, Jesus descending from Heaven, or us meeting Him in the air. They're right; the word "rapture" is nowhere to be found. All I see is gobbledygook.
For the record, the word "rapture" comes from the Latin word rapturo, which is a translation of the Greek verb "caught up" that's found in 1 Thessalonians 4:17. You can call it the "pre-trib rapture," the "pre-trib rapturo," or the "pre-trib caught up" - it's all the same thing.
For reference 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words./(KJV)
Edward you made my point..... I have zero objection the word rapture. I use the word...It is just a word used to describe ... as lots of words are... Seems to some folks this word or that word that is not in scripture is considered unBiblical yet another is Biblical ?No disrespect intended towards anyone, but I have always found that the well the word rapture isn't in the bible to be a very thin argument. It can get so silly its like saying Roman capitivy did not happen because the words Roman captivity are not found in KJV...
The w o r d rapture is not in scripture....that is all ..

It is just a word.
ever been caught up in the moment? a pretty girl the birth of a child . your bride/groom. It is just a word. like a lot of others it can have more then one meaning.... It is just a descriptive word used to describe and event.
What other words do we translate from Greek to Latin then to English?
I would measure His kingdom by the subjects.... 2000 years ago how many Christians ? how many today?
Amen Sister!
We measure the increase of His kingdom by His subjects, not trying to pretend the world is getting more godly.

Well this IS an interesting turn....
Since the Scripture says there will be NO END to the increase of His Kingdom, and you measure that by the "Quantity of Christians", you must believe that there will never be an end to people choosing to follow Him. That there will always and forever be sinners born on earth with the opportunity to Choose to Follow Christ.
Which is in direct conflict to your belief that one day God will "Call Game" and put an end to the opportunity for Human beings to Choose salvation.
How do you reconcile this?
We measure the increase of His kingdom by His subjects, not trying to pretend the world is getting more godly. Where do you see that I have said "Quantity of Christians",

BY the way you affirmed reba's measurement of "quantity, or ammount of christians" on earth having been forever on the increase since the incarnation when you said "amen Sister"
"amen" is an affirmation, in case you were unaware.
That's where.
If you misspoke, go ahead and tell us the measurement you are using.
When you say "we measure the increase by His subjects", what does that mean exactly?... by His subjects how? if not quantity or ammount, what exactly constitutes the "increase" and how will that continue "Forever" in your view?
His Kingdom will increase even beyond this age. The kingdom of God is within you.Amen Reba - We measure the increase of His kingdom by His subjects, not trying to pretend the world is getting more godly.
Rom_1:8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.
Rom_10:18 But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.
Col 1:4 Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints,
Col 1:5 For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;
Col 1:6 Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:
His Kingdom will increase even beyond this age.
