Is it true, you think, that some "Christians" are more judgmental than the rest of the world? Or, at least as judgmental, but they hide behind select Bible verses?

Christians should not be judgmental. We should be humble. We should not appear to be better than others in this world. We know that we are the Saints. But we should not come off all puffed up about it.That would definately bring the wrong message. We are sinners just like the rest of the world. We just happened to be saved.

Completely agree that this is how we should be, but my experience with Christians is that the reality is Christians have a remarkable propensity to fight, argue, and judge that is at least equal to, and most times greater than that of the rest of the world. Sad but true among way to many that I've been around.

Many unbelievers are turned off by Christians because they think they are hypocrites. That might be true.

LOL, reba.

I'm just thinking...sometimes, it seems that Christians unfortunately live up to our rep as judgmental and self-righteous. Then again...some of the kindest, most truly caring people I know have been Born Again Christians, particularly Pentecostals.

Sdaly I agree with you. Lucky for me I'm part of a rather liberal church so there ain't too much judgement. But in general I keep seeing judgement, often hidden behind pious verses or condescending fake compassion.

I think unsaved people are far more judgmental.
I experienced that by my neighbors, in the workplace, and family.
But when we are with other Christians that are judgmental, it sticks out like a sore thumb.

Many become self rigtheous when they think they are saved. They soon forget that they are still sinners and will still sin because no one is perfect otherwise there would be no need of a Saviour. A Christians job is to live a humble life before all in love and mercy. Some people who do not know the Lord are not aware they are sinning sometimes

Church people and christians are not always the same people...

Personally, I too use the term "church people" to describe anyone who goes to church on a regular basis. In larger organized churches a large number of "church people" indeed are not Christians. They simply think they will be saved by doing their "duty" to God by showing up once in a while for a worship service and paying for their salvation by putting their money in an offering plate. It's really hard for us to know how many of the people in churches that are fighting and judging are actually Christians and how many are not unless we have taken the time to really get to know the person and know their testimony. Of course, if someone wants to fight and argue with me all the time, I tend to avoid them and don't really care to associate with them, so I usually don't get to know them that well.

Some people who are not Christians are righteous. For example the Roman soldier Christ spoke to , The Lord said in the whole of Israel he never found anyone with as much faith

man without God is not righteous

1Jn_2:29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.

The Roman soldier was not a Christian but had more faith than anyone in Israel so he was a follower

Hebrews 11:31 By faith Rahab the harlot did not perish along with those who were disobedient, after she had welcomed the spies in peace. So The Father can declare anyone he wishes as righteous , that is his business.

no one was a Christian in Rahab's day... Abraham Noah Job David Saul Samuel

That is why the Apostle Paul warns Christians not to think of themselves as any special because what was grafted on was only to make the Jews jealous and can easily be torn off if God wants to.

fair point that aside she was declared righteous through faith she could not do it through works because she had none
