    One right religion?

I am not a Pagan, but I would just like to point out that a lot of the rituals in Christianity were adapted from Paganism, not to mention the customs at Christmas and Easter...

Why is God so cruel in the OT?

Alabaster-Thanks for that, it makes sense. essentials

Why is God so cruel in the OT?

Doesn't mean I'm Gods enemy dude-I love what Jesus taught but I just notice a big difference between that and the Old Testament writings (from what I've read at least-I do not profess to be an expert on theology...).

Why is God so cruel in the OT?

Why is God portrayed so often in the Old Testament as a cruel tyrant? Cursing and dooming people? I don't understand and I don't want to serve a cruel God, but maybe I'm missing something...

How do you know the Bible is the complete, infallible, literal Word of God?

I will be praying about it and I do hope to find truth. Thanks for replying.

    Mysticism Infiltrating the Church(es) ....

I've been trying to but he doesn't seem to be willing to develop a relationship with me at this point, but I pray to him every day and it does help a bit. May I ask how you experience Jesus, Alabaster? What form does your relationship with him take?

How do you know the Bible is the complete, infallible, literal Word of God?

So, I call myself a Christian because I believe in the power of Jesus-He has helped and continues to help me through some very tough times. However, as much as I want to believe the Bible is completely true I just can't-Some of it just seems too far fetched to be taken literally (key word...)...

    Mysticism Infiltrating the Church(es) ....

I hate to break it to you, but Christianity is also a man made tradition, as is every single religion on the planet. Like JamesG said, Christian mysticism is simply striving for a personal relationship with the divine. I myself have had a couple of "mystical" experiences with Christ that touched...

Who does God the Father pray to?

On that note though, if Jesus is God why does he need to pray?

    Converting people/evangelizing...

Yes I have Igor, although apparently I view Christianity in a different manner to most (not all) Christians. However, I won't go into that here because in the past it's just caused unnecessary conflict, when this should all be about peace. Above all though, I do believe Jesus is God...

    Converting people/evangelizing...

Thanks for the replies everyone, but especially you Igor-You explained that in a way that makes a lot of sense to me. I'm definately not embarrassed by God, I've just been going through a looooong, sloooooow shift in my life since turning to the light and it's still all really new to me, which...

    Converting people/evangelizing...

Hi all, I would've posted this in the "Christian Talk & Advice" forum but I'm not allowed there anymore ;) so I'll post it here...What is it about Christians that make them push their beliefs on other people and try and convert everybody to their way of thinking? I just don't understand. Is this...

Why is the upright pentagram considered evil by Christians in this day and age...

Deavonreye-It says "non Christian" under my name because in the past I posted some things on here that led one of the mods to believe I was not a "proper" Christian. I can't really blame them either to be honest, a lot of Christians are very set in their ways and do not like people trying to...

Why is the upright pentagram considered evil by Christians in this day and age...

Cheyenne-You have pretty much explained why I've decided to not wear it. As someone who was involved in the occult, and therefore knows a lot about it, I know what you mean about the temptation thing-I sometimes find it difficult if I walk past a new-age/occult shop to not go inside and start...
