questdriven: You could for example look up 'Mortification Overseer' or 'Mortification Overseer lyrics', and see if this is the sort of thing you like. it's a bit like Skillet, really, I guess.

I think also that it's good to bear in mind that it's good when Christian music brings its own sense of peace. The Lord Jesus brought peace to His people (John 14.27) and it's very different from what the world brings. Some people might say that too much metal can be less than peaceful, but I guess this is subjective; part of the matter is what the words are, I guess. It's possible to get obsessed with a particular style of music of course (even with classical music, for example; someone might be so engrossed in playing an instrument and going to concerts - nothing wrong in themselves, of course - that they crowd out attendance and prayer and Bible study meetings, etc.). So with any interest or pass-time, it's always good to have a sense of proportion.
