SWEET BUT DEADLY ENJOYMENT
Adultery and fornication are sexual sin punishable before God. 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 commands Christians to flee from sexual immoralities: adultery, fornication, lesbianism, gay practice and others. They are poisons to our body and kill our souls. Our body is the temple of Holy Spirit and should be kept holy always. Let us honor God with our body.
Gone were the days when virginity was a symbol of decency to ladies but today it is a scarce commodity in the market. Virgins are rarely found in our societies even in the church of God. A virgin is what you can hardly find in our campuses today, while half of the high school students have tasted the apple of sin (sex)
Can we find virgins in the choir ? Even among the couples joined together at the altar, how many brides in the white wedding garment are virgin ?. Leviticus 21:7 mandates a pastor to marry a virgin but how many pastors wives were married a virgin ?. Why is it difficult, if not impossible, to find virgins among the people of God, the church.
Sexual intercourse is initiated by God and it is meant for reproduction not enjoyment. It is sweet but sinful in nature if practised outside marriage. God forbids sex outside marriage among His people( Israel) in the bible but our present society permits sexual immoralities. Modernization and civilization have corrupted the Christian community, may God save us
Deuteronomy 22:20-22 says " a girl who has lost her virginity before marriage should be stoned to death while when a man sleeps with a married woman, both of them should be stoned to death. Though these verses are in Old Testament but our pastors should endeavour to constantly preach against sexual immoralities in the church. Any form of sex before or outside marriage irritates God and calls for His anger. Beware ! !! !!!
