Has anyone read these writting and can vouche,in your opinion,if they are legit?
The Didache is also called The Teachings of the Apostles.

It was originally thought to have been written between 90 and 120 AD. It is now accepted by scholars to be dated at about 90 AD and possibly even earlier.

It's legitimate.
Very short and readable,,,,in list form.

Chapter 1. The Two Ways and the First Commandment. There are two ways, one of life and one of death, but a great difference between the two ways. The way of life, then, is this: First, you shall love God who made you; second, love your neighbor as yourself, and do not do to another what you would not want done to you. And of these sayings the teaching is this: Bless those who curse you, and pray for your enemies, and fast for those who persecute you. For what reward is there for loving those who love you? Do not the Gentiles do the same? But love those who hate you, and you shall not have an enemy. Abstain from fleshly and worldly lusts. If someone strikes your right cheek, turn to him the other also, and you shall be perfect. If someone impresses you for one mile, go with him two. If someone takes your cloak, give him also your coat. If someone takes from you what is yours, ask it not back, for indeed you are not able. Give to every one who asks you, and ask it not back; for the Father wills that to all should be given of our own blessings (free gifts). Happy is he who gives according to the commandment, for he is guiltless. Woe to him who receives; for if one receives who has need, he is guiltless; but he who receives not having need shall pay the penalty, why he received and for what. And coming into confinement, he shall be examined concerning the things which he has done, and he shall not escape from there until he pays back the last penny. And also concerning this, it has been said, Let your alms sweat in your hands, until you know to whom you should give.

  • The way of life, then, is this: First, you shall love God who made you; second, love your neighbor as yourself, and do not do to another what you would not want done to you.

The Didache or The Teachings of The Twelve Apostles is an important work, believed to date to the 1st century. Indeed some date it as early as 60-70 AD. The author is unknown and one source suggests it is a composition of two or three tracts. It seems to be a manual of instruction for pagans who wish to become Christians and contains catechetical and liturgical instructions.

Although it was highly regarded by the early church it was only known for centuries from references and quotations in other works, being thought to be lost. However in 1873 a copy (dated 1056) was discovered, with other early documents, by the Orthodox Metropolitan Bryennios at Constantinople.

PS
I've used the online version many times when I have to post something.

I've often said that even Protestants should read the beginning paragraphs, can't remember without looking, but maybe the first 150?
It's well put together and explains general Christianity really well.

The bible is what Christians follow as the truth.

Other writings need to be wayed by the scripture.

The catecism doesnt line up with scripture, nor does much of the teachings of catholicism.

It's sad because I have found many catholic brothers and sisters to be very sincere in their devotion to the Lord.

Jeanne Guyon being one of them.

I thought this thread was about the Didache not an opportunity for Catholic bashing.

Have you read it?

I have the parts. Like any work of man it has some things that are true mixed with lies.

Mary of course was not born without sin.

Mary is certainly not the Mother of God.

Again many of the catholic people are precious and sincere, however the religion and teachings of catholicism are false and perverted, leading people into damnation.

The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin is a singular participation in her Son's Resurrection and an anticipation of the
resurrection of other Christians:

The “Assumption of the Blessed Virgin” is a reference to being resurrected in her body and soul as Jesus was.

Today, Catholics and many other Christians celebrate the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This significant feast day recalls the spiritual and physical departure of the mother of Jesus Christ from the earth, when both her soul and her body were taken into the presence of God.

Venerable Pope Pius XII confirmed this belief about the Virgin Mary as the perennial teaching of the Church when he defined it formally as a dogma of Catholic faith in 1950, invoking papal infallibility to proclaim, “that the Immaculate Mother of God, the ever-Virgin Mary, having completed the course of her earthly life, was assumed body and soul into heavenly glory.”

This is not only false doctrine but blasphemous.

Jesus Christ alone has been resurrected bodily from the dead, everyone else with be resurrected at His coming, on the last day;
The Day of the Lord.

But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming.
1 Corinthians 15:20-23

  • But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming.

Mary fulfilled her purpose to give birth to the flesh and blood Man, Jesus Christ. Mary is the mother of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Mary certainly is not the Mother of God.

God is Spirit.

Mary did not give birth to Spirit.

That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. John 3:6

OK, so this thread is not about the Didache but it's a Catholic bashing thread.

Mary is the Mother of God.

The Assumption of Mary is not blasphemous.

Yes, Mary was Ever-Virgin.

Mary was born without sin.

I don't have to provide evidence for my claims because you didn't for yours

Perhaps now it's turned into a Catholic bashing thread Free or for_his_glory will move it the the Catholic Section and I can close it. :lol
