This doctrine may not be wholly distinct to the Roman Catholic Church, but it is very much associated with them. Pat, what you need to know is that we would be very open to discussing such things if there could be respectful discourse. The reason we had to implement this restriction is that disagreements inevitably became heated and emotional on both sides of the matter. It is not that we are restricting a search for Truth at all. There are very strong feelings of people that either affirm or deny the ascension of Mary.
I am sorry, but I am going to have to hold our ground on this out of respect for members on both sides of this debate.
