Not what I want to believe. What I have learned to believe from one who to me is a very reliable source. Christian denominations are rather autonomous. Wouldn't you say?
So you believe in the teaching of one person whom you regard as 'a very reliable source'. That sounds awfully restrictive and biased towards one-person, autonomous religion to me. You don't like denominations but religion from one person is OK.
No, I do not regard Christian denominations as autonomous. There are many people in, say, Baptist denominations who do not believe and teach the same. Near to where I live, there is a Baptist church (part of Qld Baptists) that is as close to any Pentecostal church as I have seen. Many other Baptist churches are not of that kind.
So denominations do not have to be restrictive and autonomous. However, it seems that you have the restrictive-autonomous kind as taught by one person. Don't you think you have a biased view of what is happening here?
Reminds me of the pot calling the kettle black. James warns us not to show partiality (James 2:1-13 ESV). Take a look at the meaning of James 2:9 (ESV) in context and how it might apply to you and me.
