12 Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.
13 And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.

Luke 7:11-13 Revised Standard Version (RSV)
Jesus Raises the Widow’s Son at Nain
11 Soon afterward he went to a city called Na′in, and his disciples and a great crowd went with him. 12 As he drew near to the gate of the city, behold, a man who had died was being carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow; and a large crowd from the city was with her. 13 And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her and said to her, “Do not weep.”

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

11 At this point the crowds were going around with Jesus, they would end up leaving later because they didn’t like His hard teachings.

12 This would have been the son that would have cared her since her husband had died, she cant do anything now because she cant own her home or work, her last hope died. Often times Jesus acts when we have no where else to turn.

13 Jesus was there to fix things, it hurts Him for us to cry but sometimes we have to.

I think you have the wrong title, but that happens lol.

There are actually two lessons to learn. Jesus not only had compassion for this women, but also acted on that compassion which is something we need to learn to do. The second lesson is if you read further that Jesus was teaching not to doubt, but believe and have faith as Jesus is our faith. Of course back in the time of John the Baptist and the disciples they would only know Jesus as a prophet sent by God as it would not be until later they would know Him as Messiah come.
