Because
Christians believe Paul, who was a religious scholar who studied under Gamaliel , lived in the 1st century, and was an eye witness and acturally knew Jesus.
Muslims believe Mohammad, who was not a religious scholar, lived in the 6th-7th century hundreds of years after Jesus, and never knew or met Jesus.

From the conception of Islam in the 7th century they rejected Christianity and attacked them in the middle east, north Africa, western Europe and eastern Europe.

I know some people prefer a middle man. They are afraid to go directly to God. So they think Mohammed is just like Christ; a mediator. Until the Holy Spirit came to me with the truth that Jesus was more than a prophet, I too believe he was just a mediator. So maybe these people have not yet experienced the Holy Spirit in their lives and are therefore confused like I was. I don't know why I had to hear it directly from the Holy Spirit, but I did. And Christ loved me anyway while he was waiting for me to come around. So he loves them too; at least the good ones. In my opinion . . . as usual.

If I understand the logic (from what I've heard before), Muslim is meant as a term for "servent of God." The problem though is that in practice Muslim refers to those who have faith in Islam. Not all Christians are servents of God, because Jesus warned that not everyone who calls Him "Lord" is really a beliver. Conversely just by looking at the news and the divisions and war among Islamic groups, you can conclude that Muslims are not servents of God either.
The big issue for me on this is that Islam and Christianity don't agree with eachother on some key points. Expecially about Jesus. If a good Muslim doesn't believe the words of Jesus in the bible, or the events in the gospels, then can they actually be a Christian?
Nonetheless BrotherTruth, if you would like to consider what Jesus taught to become a better Christian, or to better understand Christianity I think we can do that.

Mohammad Ibn Abdallah was born in the year 570 AD to the Quraysh Tribe in the city of Mecca. His father died before he was born and his mother Amina died when he was 6 years old (Mohammed To better understand the hate fueling modern day Islamic one must first look back to its roots. From the early days of Islam to today's globally televised beheadings, Muslims are simply acting-out what Mohammed believed, and what the Quran teaches. And when Quranic Law was given the opportunity to govern, its violent, 7th century intolerance was seen through the eyes of Afghanistan's Taliban - a view of converting and uniting the Arab world under Islamic Law by sword first, and everyone else second.
What truly is at the heart of the Islamists hatred today is no different than that which fueled Mohammed's hatred as he wrote the Quran. It is the belief and goal of a one-world, global Islamic empire run by Quranic Law whereby everyone must, in the end, convert to their fundamentalist ideology or face beheading. The hatred that fuels this theocracy dates back to Ishmael and his son-in-law Esau, and from there, compounded to form the foundations of Islamicism which is the reason why most of the world conflicts today involve Muslims.
From Ishmael, whose birthright was denied, to Esau and Jacob - rivaling twins, the seed of hate was sewn. What evolved thereafter was a bitter, jealousy that has been passed down to every Arab generation since. By the 7th century, this ancient hatred made its way into the heart and mind of a common-criminal named Mohammed - an Arab and descendant of Ishmael, who founded a religion and used it to justify his countless, criminal acts of rape and murder.
