1 John 5:1-4

5 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.
2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

Overcoming the World

5 Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and whoever loves the Father loves the child born of Him. 2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and observe His commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome. 4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.

These are my thoughts please share yours.

1 To believe is to live having this knowledge so, believing Jesus is Christ and He is born of God show in your life if you truly accept this truth. A person can not believe Jesus is God and continue living the way they want to live. Accepting Jesus as Lord, allows Him to guide our way toward Him.

2 It is thru love that Christ came to die for us, it is thru love that we allow Him to live thru us and it is by love that we share the truth with others. The world will not show this type of love to anyone. Love is of God not of man. Man gains love only thru God by Christ.

3 We live by His truths not out of duty or salvation, salavation is not in what I do but in Christ's death for us, we keep his comandments because we love Him and want to please Him.

4 Our faith in Christ will show thru love and following the comandments He gives us. Thru faith in Him we will overcome anything we can come across in this world.

to believe as this Scripture shows is so much more than living with the knowledge of God , Jesus, and Truth.
even the demons believe/know all this and they shudder in terror ! many persons do believe Jesus is God, yet continue in sin doing just what they want to do. this is fatal to them of course, but God will not coerce them to do what He tells them to do.

the (potential) fullness of union with Yhwh and Yeshua and other believers is evident in 1 John, and most Wonderful !

the warnings Yeshua and of the apostles and prophets are Wonderful also - a safe and good reminder what to watch out for, so that none of us may become deceived by sin and lose a reward; even so we may not lose the benefits of union in Yeshua and abiding in Him with all other (true) believers. not as if the benefits are anything - great as they are - but
to be totally pursuing the life in Yeshua that He has called us all in His Purpose to ..... such amazing grace !

It all comes down to love which is the will of God as it's His greatest commandment as the second one is to love your neighbor as yourself. If one truly has the love of God within them then that light of Christ will shine forth from them and others will know they are of Christ by their love for others. As Jeff said even the demons believe and tremble at his name. It's more than believing in the name itself as it's our confession of faith in Christ to know he died for the remission of sin and now sits at the right hand of God being now our mediator before the Father.
