John 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

These movies are only feel good entertainment and actually come against scripture.

Colton Burpo has an astonishing testimony! The movie was good, the book was better. Some may be trying to over-commercialize it and those guys are always there. Vultures. But before the vultures, a little boy had a close call with his appendix, and Jesus at the same time! It's a wonderful tale of the Lord and a small piece of Colton's walk and none of that was aginst any scripture. Well that's what Edward says anyway. :wink

What about Paul? He did, it's in the Bible.

What about Paul? He did, it's in the Bible.
2Co 12:2 I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.
2Co 12:3 And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;)
2Co 12:4 How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.

This doesn't say that Paul was caught up to the third heaven, but that he knew a man fourteen years ago, whether in the body or out of the body, he did not know. It's not clear if Paul was talking about himself or someone else.

Rev 4:1-2 John sees a vision of a door opening before him. The first voice he heard speaking to him was that of great power and authority similar to the powerful sound a trumpet makes. The voice tells John to draw in closer to Gods Spirit to see the visions of those things that are yet future. After hearing this voice John was immediately overcome by the Holy Spirit and in this vision saw a throne was set in heaven and the Lord sat on it, Rev 1:10; Isaiah 6:1. John was not taken up to heaven, John 3:13, but was only caught up in the Spirit while he was on the isle of Patmos.

To be caught up in the Spirit, or in other words "slain in the Spirit" means that the power of the Holy Spirit overcomes your whole body with a heightend inner awareness where the body actually goes limp and falls backwards to the ground. While in the Spirit God can speaks to our spirit usually verbally as He reveals whatever it is that we need revealing of. (Ezekiel 1:28; Daniel 10:5-18; Matthew 17:6; John 18:6; Revelation 1:10-18)

If Jesus says no one has ascended up to the third heaven I have to believe in what He has already said.

Uh, no. I don't remember the book, but there's one place where Paul was stoned to death and went to heaven. Then came back and said that he saw stuff he's not allowed to talk about

All I know is that shortly after that movie was released that they interviewed the little boy and his father and they admitted it wasn't true. Although a good movie.

Looked it up, apparently it's speculation that the time he was stoned was the time he went to heaven. Ok. My Bible study tapes that I listened to as a kid have failed me ig.

This might help.

Paul Stoned at Lystra
Act 14:19 And there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and, having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead.
Act 14:20 Howbeit, as the disciples stood round about him, he rose up, and came into the city: and the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe.
Act 14:21 And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioch,
Act 14:22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

Scripture does not say how Paul died, but tradition holds he was beheaded in Rome.

So far as the verse you gave in your first post, I see no indication that it's representative of all time, only the time from before to the time it was spoken.

Actually, this verse has interesting implications so far as where the dead go when they die.

Not sure what you mean as what is not representative of all time? Sorry, not understanding what you are saying.

Actually, this verse has interesting implications so far as where the dead go when they die.

Jesus nor the angels have never returned for anyone after His ascending to sit at the right hand of the Father being our mediator before God, John 3:13. The resurrection of the dead has not happened yet as it is only our breath/spirit that made us a living soul that returns back to God who gave it when this physical body dies and returns to the dust of the ground from where it came from, Genesis 2:7; Ecc 12:7. No one is resurrected until the one and only return of Christ who calls His Bride to meet Him in the air and then forever we will be with Him in all of Gods glory, John 5:28, 29; 6:40; 1 Corinthians 15:51-55; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18.

Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Here dust + breath/spirit from God = a living soul. When the flesh dies physically it returns back to the dust of the ground (grave) and our spirit is preserved with God for final judgment.

They interviewed him? Whoo is they? I must've missed that.

Detractors will always be around but what came out of the horses mouth? (Colton and his dad).

Got a link to this interview?

I'm sorry as it was Alex Malarkey - "The boy who came back from heaven" was the one who lied about going to heaven as he was trying to get some attention after his accident that left him quadriplegic.

I really do not believe in out of body experiences where your soul actually leaves your body for a certain amount of time, but that many have been caught up (slain) in the Spirit right where they are to receive visions from God like that of Paul and the Apostle John in Revelation for Him to speak and show us for whatever reason there needs to be as I have had this happen a few times in my own life.

That makes sense then because when I watched all of Colton and his dad's testimonies they seemed to come across as very credible. Mixups happen.

I'm unfamiliar with Alex malarkey. Never heard of him.

I never heard of him either. His name came up when I was trying to find articles about Colton. There is a lot of debate though whether Colton was telling the truth or not, but I do see it as a testimony to bring others to Christ.
