2012 Decomeber 21

Have I missed something?

What is significant about the date 2012 December 21 to make it different to
2012 December 22 or 2011 December 21 when something dramitic may happen? :pray

My nephew will have a birthday! :candle

Or are you talking about the buzz that the Mayan Calendar, the I Ching, Nostradamus, and other fuzzy non-Biblical sources seem to say that the world as we know it will end on that day.

The Bible Code folks also lend themselves to the whole December 21, 2012, but I wouldn't call the Bible Code sound exegesis. Perhaps if those folks would stop looking for obscure "codes" in the Bible and simply read the Bible, they would be better prepared for the future. :readbible

Well I know one thing for sure: I still wouldn't have finished my Christmas shopping!! :gah

And that is about all I do know, beacuse I can't forsee the future. None of us can.

If this is some date put forward because some of those "more enlightened" Christians among us seem to to have gleaned this as the date for Jesus' return, forget it. Because if so, that ranks you higher in the celestial & spiritual world than angels. I think not. :yes

Well, I don’t celebrate Christmas for several reasons. The main one is The Jesus was not born on December 25, all the pagan sun god’s were.
Besides all that, I worship Jesus ever day, I don’t need a certain day to honor Jesus, I think all of you will agree. How close are we to the end, by a careful reading of Scripture in Revelation we can see we are getting close to something, just what that is I don’t know. We need to keep looking and watching not only for disaster but for our Lord Jesus to come back and catch us up and take us home.

Whether or not he was born on that exact date is not important to me. I celebrate the fact that He came and died for us on that day.
To imply that is the only day we celebrate that is wrong.

So, why did you bring this up? :confused

On Decenmer 21, 2012, I'll still have two solid days free before I go Christmas shopping :D

Dec 21 2012 is the day the earth, sun, and center of the galaxy will all be in alignment.

The Mayan calender is partially based off this and they were quite the astrologers in their day. That is where this doom and gloom "prophesy" originated.

For us Christians, the day has no relevance at all. It's little more than science fiction like crystal skulls, bible code, ect....

We do not know the day of judgment and it will happen without warning. The scriptures make that clear:

Mat 24:43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into.

2Pe 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed.

So in short, business as usual, Christams Shopping unless the Second Coming happens before :pray

Whether20-12 is real or not, Bible codes are real. I do believe that something is going to happen on 20-12. Whether it is the end of the world or not, I can rest in knowing that Jesus is there for me to take me home, whenever the earth is destroyed. The Bible does describe the earth being destroyed in great detail, it just might be describing the events of Planet X.
The Polar Shift which would destroy most, if not all life on earth. A small percent of Human life will be preserved because Jesus will cut the days of destruction short or no flesh would survive. And then He re-creates the New Earth.

The Mayan calender uses Dec 12, 2012 as a point where one Mayan era ends and another begins something like setting a date for the transition from the Industrial Age to the Information Age in our culture.
I wouldn't get my bloomers in a bunch about this. It'll be a non-event like Y2K.

I believe it will be another y2k.

Mat 24:43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into.

This tells us that we won't know what's happening ("would have stayed awake") until it has passed.
Perhaps we will be "awakened" to serve God's purpose AFTER some huge environmental changes or NWO.
Guessing and probing is just going to put ideas in our heads. I'd say turn to the Bible fully for reference?

Are we certain the Bible doesn't address 2012?
