    Strengthening families through biblical principles.

Focus on the Family addresses the use of biblical principles in parenting and marriage to strengthen the family.

Perez got in trouble tonight walking 3 in one inning. He needs to calm down. They lost 3-2.

On another note it was opening day for sons baseball team with yours truly coaching. We won 8-6 . Sonny boy went 2 for 2 1B, 2B knocked in 3 runs and scored twice. Did it all from the 5 spot in the order.

We were aggressive on the bases, which we worked hard on in spring training.

Pitching was good. In 12U ball and had an 11 year old pitch most of the game doing a good job pitching out of two jams. Had one reliever give up three runs as he was concerned about balks. Lol I screamed "just pitch the ball." He did better but walked the tying run so went to my smoke master closer. He got the last out. Dude is a mini Matt Bush. He will start on Thursday. Team we are facing next is pretty solid so have to keep runs down.

So have you recovered from your little trip around the bases the other day??? :biggrin
Lol yes. Now just bone tired being Mr Mom with wife in NY tending to her mother.

Never realized the synchronization matrix my dear wife runs in the morning while I am off to work. Making lunches, feeding the yowing cats, walking the dogs and being a drill sergeant getting the boys rolling in the morning. Has been some time since she has been away.

It's good as mothers day is upcoming and I will have more words of thanks and encouragement to write in her card. The way she runs things in the house while I am at work makes me think she missed a calling to be a senior NCO in the Army. :-)

Of course I am not "mom" so the boys must feel like they are getting some feeling of what it was like to be one of my Lieutenants many moons ago.

All good and praying grandma gets better and is able to get the surgery she needs done.

Good news on the game last night. DD, Gallo and Rua had big games and Cole did alright. The pen also rose to the occasion. 14-3 win.

Bad news is we may not see Beltre for a bit longer.

Wonder if they are taking this slower as Joey Gallo is batting over .300 in the past week, drawing walks, getting big hits and flashing some leather at 3B.

I played Mr Mom the last 5 years I was in the military so I know all about it. But by then my oldest was old enough to drive so I got her a car and let her do the chauffeuring of the other 2 to after school activities, and so she could go to work at the local country club...

I have a sneaking suspicion they will keep Joey around if he's still producing even when Adrian comes back, but he needs to get at least 5 days a week in not then send him back to AAA to keep up with the learning process...

Agree.

This team is just not good this year. Banny is also not learning how far his starters can go. Cashner is good for 6 innings or 80 pitches. After that he's gassed.

He let him start the 7th with a free pass on 4 pitches.

Pen is still struggling and the lineup has few if any bright spots. They are just not good this year.

Gallo is the only story right now. His bat slowed down but he is flashing some leather.

I know Roogie and Mazara are still pups. Wonder if the woes continue they sell Choo, Nap, Yu and Hamels at trade deadline and build around Roogie, Mazara and Gallo. Keep Evis as no one wants his contract and he will most likely do well this year.

This is a big series against the 1st place Astros.

Nice ray of sunshine for the Rangers yesterday. Old AJ may be back. The one who used to beat us a lot. :)

Complete game shut out.

Last complete game we had was the 5-1 Colby Lewis win in 2015 against the A's. He had a no-no going into the 9th.

AJ had never pitched against the Padres before and they seemed a bit anxious so that could explain the outcome...

Astros lost 1st game today to Yankees wonder if this is the beginning of them coming back to Earth???
Perhaps. I know we won 5 straight and gained no ground on Houston. Not worried as the season is young. 19-20 and in second place. :-)

Worried about Gomez. Looks like he did something with his hammy when he scored tying run. Choo scratched from the lineup today with tight back. The same issue he's had now for 3 years. Beltre looks like he is close to coming back.

Would hate to see Gomie out for two weeks.

The only OFer they could call up that's on the 40 man roster is..... Profar...

You wouldn't think he would have back issues if he ran on a regular basis and his cleats are the right ones for him. My guess is he's wearing too tall front cleats. He needs to switch them out for shorter in the front and taller in the back, take about 10 minutes to change them out...

I went thru about 6 different types before I found the ones that were right for me and didn't bother my hammys and back...

The ones I liked were a lot like these:
