A 3 Way Marriage

Its coming...the destruction+hollowing out of all our institutions in the name of "progress" and "tolerance."

I don't know anything about Brazilian law, but isn't there a way these three could work out some sort of contract or something that would give them some rights w/o trying to change the law because, well...they feel like it?

Similarly, I don't understand why same-sex couples can't push for civil unions. Why push all the way for marriage? OK, I kind of understand why, at least for active homosexuals...people who give themselves over to serious sin and make their sins the core of their identity seem to have a need to re-make everything to suit their sins. Gay marriage, gay churches, etc...its idolatry to the max. I guess its the same with these people in the 3 way "marriage."

You know why, and I am not trying to be smart here believe me I am not. But you are so happy being a non Christian because you don't know any better. The Bible says that the things we say to you is foolishness to you.

Hmmm. I guess if I squint at that sentence it could look less like an insult.

I know plenty of ex-Christians now that feel just as happy now as they did when they were Christians.

What you're effectively saying is only 33% of the world's population (at least I think it's around that figure) is "truly happy"?

I guess the Dalai Lama is just masking the pain then.

if there was no marriage, there would be just people who love other people.

look at the silly monkeys trading some hankypanky for some bananas, look at the silly monkeys trading their daughters for some land and cattle. PPPRRRLLLLLLLLL :P

Well, polygamy was prevalent in early humans. In fact, it left a definite imprint in our genome if you look at the X and Y chromosomes which shows that small numbers of our male ancestors had their way with large groups of females. So it's definitely a part of our history.

I prefer a monogomous relationship but there's no reason why polygyny is any less moral. Just more expensive on birthdays.

well thats before farming was invented, our ancestors would make the children and raise them with the efforts of the whole tribe, so thats a stretch even for polygamy, more like everyone is in an open relationship with everyone. after farming and owning land was a thing, they started trading partnership. that is my half educated picture at least, i hope it is mostly free of conjecture.

talking about a polygamous relationship... i personally wouldn't mind being part of something like that although im happy with just my boyfriend right now.

I'm going to sum up this article.

A legal official over stepped her bounds and granted a civil union to a group that are not under the legal definition.

The clerk made good points about how the couple had some reasonable reasons for wanting a civil union.

Catholics and evangelicals are over reacting to this as if its some massive problem when the reality is, its just a legal mess that the courts can sort out.

People here on this board are calling of the end of the world over such a small issue and several are trying to brag about stupid fallacious arguments and shadow box with people that aren't even here.

Did I some it up pretty well?
