Continued From Part I
12. Laying on of Hands for the Endowment of the Holy Spirit and other gifts
Acts 8:14-17 (KJV)
14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:
16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.
1 Timothy 4:14 (KJV)
14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.
"presbytery" Greek Word: πρεσβυτέριον Transliteration: presbyterion, meaning, [from] (presbuteros); the order of elders, i.e. (special) Israelite Sanhedrim or Christian “presbytery”
NOTE: Laying on of hands upon another is under the direct
authority of the Five-Fold Ministry, i.e., Apostle, Prophet,
Evangelists, Pastor, Teacher, and as seen here, Elders (plural).
13. Preaching
Acts 8:4-5 (KJV)
4 Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.
5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.
(also Eph. 4:11-16)
14. Sending Missionaries .
Acts 13:1-4 (KJV)
1 Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.
2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.
3 And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.
4 So they, being sent forth by the Holy Ghost, departed unto Seleucia; and from thence they sailed to Cyprus.
15. Collections
Acts 11:29 (KJV)
29 Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea:
1 Corinthians 16:2 (KJV)
2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
16. Reasoning and Persuading Others to Accept the Gospel
Paul had some serious heated arguments, and persuasions, in the performing of this one. Take note that this persuading was TO and FOR God's Covenant people. Some of God's people ("Jews") were scattered throughout the then-known world and the sending of the eleven apostles was TO THEM. Messiah was Promised to Israel (Deut. 18:15) and to Israel Messiah came (John 1:31).
Acts 19:8-10 (KJV)
8 And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God.
9 But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus.
10 And this continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.
17. Confessions
Acts 19:18 (KJV)
18 And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds.
James 5:16 (KJV)
16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
18. Church Trials
Matthew 18:15-18 (KJV)
15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.
18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
NOTE: Authority to preside and perform over church trials
is delegated only to members of the Five Fold Ministry.
19. Addition of Members
Acts 2:41 (KJV)
41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
20. Exercise of Other Gifts
Acts 3:6 (KJV)
6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.
Acts 5:12-16 (KJV)
12 And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon's porch.
13 And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them.
14 And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)
15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.
16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.
21. Fellowship
Acts 2:42 (KJV)
42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
Are there any more activities the brethren engaged in when gathered together in congregation?
And now I ask to each individual....are YOU in a Biblical Church?
