Photographs A Creation?

I learned how to create brushes yesterday and it made this one look some better. If you like to work with graphics I very strongly recommend you look into one or more of the tutorials on creating your own brushes.

It's a strange obsession for a three score and ten plus, these days, to still be in school. I needed to join the Army at seventeen, just out of the eighth grade, and I must not have gotten my fill of education, I still enjoy discovering.

And thank you. The first one is the first attempt to work without a Photo and, instead, just create. Both of these are a bit rough and compared to my fellow Crew Chief, Tom Matern, Cajun, mine are very rough but the more I do them the better they should appear.
 
I took a jungle shot and posterized it and then, a natural, I added the three chopper and the explosion of the two 2.75 inch rockets. Chopper will know this but for those of you that do not, the green tracers a communist, going up, and the red are our's, going down with the rockets that blew the gun nest away.View attachment 9254
 
War is strange and some will ask why I do these desktop backgrounds with a surreal appearance and the answer is pretty much the same with me and my other friends that do these. My first night in close combat I was the only man on the line with a flashlight and when Charlie Dale asked me to look at the Shrapnel Wounds to his back, I did not see OD and blood red. I saw him in Black and White and when I went for Paul Hienen, again I did not see colors. Had I I would have collapsed right there in the middle of his parts, no, and to this day when that night haunts me the nightmare is black and white.

Combat looks all wrong and that pushes all of us to communicate what we saw, not what the News Freaks filmed but what we saw.

O my warrior Buddy. How I grieve over the sights and sounds of that war that haunts your waking moments and especially night visions of men torn apart by the enemy. My thoughts and prayers are such that Jesus would favor you with the peace that passes understanding, especially because of the vicious war.

I love You Bill.

Thank you Chopper! Since Jesus took charge memories and nightmares are much, much better. I haven't frightened my best half for a long time now in the middle of the night. Thank you for the prayers.

You are so welcome. I wish everyone in CF.net would thank you for the great sacrifice you made to keep our Country safe from the enemy. God only knows what would have happened if you and other very brave warriors had not risked your lives in that terrible war. You may be forgotten because that war was quite a while ago, but you are reminded of it now and again with flash backs. Our Country owes you, and I owe you my deepest thanks and respect for your great sacrifice. Bravo Bill Taylor, Bravo. I'm so very proud of you, and count it a great honor to be your friend.

Keep those images coming, your gift of creating them is fantastic, and brings back valiant memories.

Chopper,
You know what it is all about but almost everyone else were and are civilians and it was a civilian that spit between my eyes and it was civilians I grew up getting into and out of trouble with that would not allow me to buy them a beer. The nut in Frisco went to the hospital and when I arrive Home I made new friends and all these years later it is an insult to me for those people to say thank you to me. They need to go to the Wall, write down every name and then look up their moms, dads, wives and children and see if they can help them. My run here is almost over and I got over American Traitors a long time ago, brother.

May God bless you and all the men and women of the true hearts though.

The arrogance and scriptural ignorance, intentional ignorance, disturbs me to no end. I have had four wives to find one that can have the heebee geebees scared out of her in the middle of the night and not walk out the door on me. But when we look at scripture God set patterns for us to live by and from Adam and Eve we, humans, have been busy trying to demonstrate to God that we know better than He does and therefore, we do not need Him.

The truth is that if we will live His way, we will be happy, fulfilled, and live long, fruitful lives. But that means we should run our military in much the same fashion as do the Israelis. There are women that can take a man's head off at the drop of a hat but they are never allowed in combat.

No, these women train the combat soldiers and that is perfect because God never made a man that will allow a lass to out climb, out fight, nor to out run him, perfect trainers. But today we send women into fox holes to die protecting us.

Ladies should never, ever, see their best friend explode in front of them!
 
The Battalion Moto is Above the Best. Many have thought that conceited, demonstrating a complete lack of understanding of the Servant Mind. Thank you for the like Angel. After I had created the Big Foot Mountains Paint Brush to avoid it being too bright I used it with the Spray Gun in the Free GIMP 2.8 and after spray painting the choppers and the Spooky C-47 I over laid it with an orange Level that I set the opacity at about thirty percent followed with a purple layer and I adjusted the opacity until I liked the surreal appearance.
 
Having learned, from another vet from the Screaming Chickens, how to create custom brushes for GIMP and for PhotoShop, I am having a blast just creating the brushes.
 
It's remarkably good, and there are a huge number of plug-ins and scripts available from developers. I use it for my photo club, because not many of the kids have the resources to get Photoshop. And pretty much everything you can do in PS can be done with GIMP.

It requires a little longer learning period, but most kids today are so digital that they take to it quickly and adapt it to whatever they want to do.
