This was the original title.
The actual song is called "running up that hill".
Such a beautiful song. Here's Bush on the song meaning:

I was trying to say that, really, a man and a woman can't understand each other because we are a man and a woman. And if we could actually swap each other's roles, if we could actually be in each other's place for a while, I think we'd both be very surprised! [Laughs] And I think it would lead to a greater understanding. And really the only way I could think it could be done was either... you know, I thought a deal with the devil, you know. And I thought, 'well, no, why not a deal with God!' You know, because in a way it's so much more powerful the whole idea of asking God to make a deal with you. You see, for me it is still called "Deal With God", that was its title. But we were told that if we kept this title that it would not be played in any of the religious countries, Italy wouldn't play it, France wouldn't play it, and Australia wouldn't play it! Ireland wouldn't play it, and that generally we might get it blacked purely because it had God in the title.[4]

I've thought this about my partner. What's it really like being a woman? (or married to me......mmm well moving on)
I think one benefit of getting older is maybe I have more empathy for women. Not that I will ever understand them. They often get a raw deal. It can be a man's world, despite the progress of feminism.

Lyrics

It doesn't hurt me
Do you want to feel how it feels?
Do you want to know, know that it doesn't hurt me?
Do you want to hear about the deal that I'm making?
You, it's you and me
And if I only could
I'd make a deal with God
And I'd get him to swap our places
Be running up that road
Be running up that hill
Be running up that building
See if I only could, oh
You don't want to hurt me
But see how deep the bullet lies
Unaware I'm tearing you asunder
Ooh, there is thunder in our hearts
Is there so much hate for the ones we love?
Tell me, we both matter, don't we?
You, it's you and me
It's you and me, won't be unhappy
And if I only could
I'd make a deal with God
And I'd get him to swap our places
Be running up that road
Be running up that hill
Be running up that…

Bottom line, God does not make deals and one needs to walk a mile in another's persons shoes to understand them better.

I posted that in "what music are we listening to?" in January.

I actually just read a couple weeks ago where Kate Bush stated her reason for the lyrics. It should be called "A Deal with God"

When I listen to this song, it has deep meaning to me. There are people in my life that I love deeply and they run from the love of God. If they could swap places with me for a minute then their eyes could be opened to what is waiting for them.

What is a covenant then?
God made a deal with the Israelites, didn't he?

A covenant is a contract. A covenant is essentially, a deal. The Lord's covenant is a blood covenant. The Lord became man in the flesh and lived His life without sin and shed His blood and His life to become the sin which kept us out of the graces of God.

The Lord gave us women and the Marriage Covenant so that we can learn about Covenant, relationship and Love, In preparation for The Marriage Supper of the Lamb.

I have always said God doesn't make deals.
Yes the covernant is a deal, but it is God making the deal.

When people talk about making a deal with God it is always for there advantage, if you over look X I will do y.

In the covernant there is no overlooking, it is all about obedience.
Just as in the new covernant.

Don't get me wrong, I do think we should keep our part of the bargain. I mean covenant. It shouldn't be God doing all the compromising. We should compromise too.

God's covenant was with Abraham and every generation after him, Genesis 12 as it is by obedience, not let's make a deal.

Right. But we choose if we want to honor it and enter into this covenant. Our portion involves, to turn from our sin and repent, obey. study, pray, fast, walk in love...and so forth. The more that we are able to bring our flesh into subjection the further we could advance in the Kingdom of God.

There is provisions in the Lord's covenant to be...Servant, Friend, Son, and Bride. Each level up brings more graces, obedience, responsibilities, more difficult trials. suffering, humility and sacrifice.

You are right as it is all about the choices we make in this life that will either bring God's blessings or cursing upon us like what we read in Deuteronomy chapters 27 and 28.

Deal me in again. I want 4 Of a kind this time.
