Hey let's talk about something else, lol. Too much politics can be bad for you, lol.

Here's a couple crazy questions for you which came to mind at some point for me...We all know that too much television is bad for you, too much internet....smart phones, video games...looking at a screen of any sort, too much...is bad for you mentally. You must (or should) give yourself a break from it here and there and engage brain. Geez, go outside for awhile or go visit someone in person...Then I thought, why not just make it a fast of sorts? What would that entail? More than just taking a break from it, I think. Shut them all off completely. Shut down the computer and Wifi signal for this time also I think! That Wifi signal can't be good for us! (how long has yours been on?)

I think I could afford to do a three day Digital Fast. But I kinda need to not leave my phone off for very long lest I go broke, lol!

Do you think a Digital Fast is a good idea? Do you think that a Digital Fast would be a real and acceptable fast, unto the Lord? (After all, screens are entertaining and so we would be depriving ourselves of this amusing distraction and going without it...so it might be an acceptable fast?) I bet I'd have a lot more time to pray, lol!

Ok, last crazy question. We all know that the existence of evil spirits and demons are real due to scripture. And that they can posses either man or animal. Agreed? You still with me? ...Do you think evil spirits and demons can possess computer equipment and/electrical devices?

I think I will answers both questions at once. No and no lol I don't do any kind of fasting and technology just might have a mind of it's own but I don't think it can be possesed. Just my opinion though. But yeah, unless it's really nice outside or I have places to go, all day long I have some sort of a screen in front of me and that's just the way I like it. (unless the power goes out and then I'm forced to do something else but nope! I won't do it willingly)

I don't think a fast like this would bring any glory or honor to God unless you are going to spend that time in fellowship with Him. How many days you decide to abstain you will be right back at it again. Evil spirits and demons can only posses a human or an animal, but can posses the person using electronics for for any evil purpose even if they are unaware of how they work in those who are not in Christ and He in them.

But of course I would be spending more time in fellowship with Him!

Can only possess humans or animal? Forgive me Sister, but is there any scripture one way or the other on that? The reason I ask that is I heard a pastor say it, and I've never heard it before... he sounded confident and adamant about it though...

The pastor I heard say that did not give a scripture for it...but I also believe that the Lord has real prophets in the world today and probably always has, why would he change? Most here probably don't believe in modern day prophets so I hesitate to give any names because someone would have a problem with it. But there's a couple guys that I know of that I believe are real prophets. From having listened to them (YouTube!) and...praying for discernment...but I never heard him or anyone ever say anything like that before, and I'm not sure what to think about it. On one hand it sounds weird enough to dismiss that notion, but if it were to happen to be true, what then? Wow. There's a lot of people living in their screens every day. I spend entirely too much time on the internet. I think that's what made me think of fasting from digital equipment for a period.

Mark 5:1-20 is the definitive passage on demon possession and its effects in the Bible. Some of the details about demons the Bible reveals in this passage are:

1. Devils want to be near dead human bodies or tombs (vs. 2, 3, 5).
2. They can cause unusual strength (vs. 3-4).
3. They can make a person unreasonable or immune to sensible persuasion (vs. 4).
4. They cause excessive crying (vs. 5).
5. They cause sadistic and masochistic behavior (vs. 5).
6. They have an affinity for heights (vs. 5).
7. They recognize Christ as "the Son of God" and appeal to Him (vs. 6-7).
8. They know they deserve torment and dread it (vs. 6-7).
9. They have names (vs. 9).
10. More than one can possess the same body (vs. 9).
11. They desire to stay in the same geographical region or "country" (vs. 10).
12. They would rather indwell an animal body than none at all (vs. 12).
13. They can cause animals to kill themselves (vs. 13).
14. They desire to be in a body when it dies (vs. 13).
15. They have a desire for water (vs. 13).

Mark 9:17-29 gives us even more details about devils:

16. They can cause dumbness and deafness (vs. 17, 25).
17. They cause rabid animal like behavior (vs. 18).
18. They can indwell from childhood (vs. 21).
19. They cause suicidal behavior (vs. 22).
20. They resist leaving a body and violently "rent" it while leaving (vs. 26).
21. There are different kinds of devils. Some have more power than others (vs. 29).
22. Some can only be removed by prayer and fasting of believer (vs. 29).

Ephesians 6:12 states Satan has a hierarchy of "devils" in his kingdom, "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." Thus some devils have more power and authority than others.

In Daniel 10:13 (as well as Mark 9:29) there is an example of this. "The prince of the kingdom of Persia" withstood the angel sent to explain Daniel's vision to him for 21 days. He could only break free when the angel Michael came and helped him overcome the powerful "prince." The "prince" may have been Satan, but more likely he was a very powerful devil.
