A great conviction just came over me

I had just realized an opportunity I had not long ago to purchase a king James bible. I passed on it because I assumed I could read online and that I'd get it later, with finances being so rough lately.

But I'm sitting here tonight thinking about the tribulation and rapture and thinking that could've been a test I failed.

Thing is, I was sure in my heart of the decision and tonight I asked my dad if he has a spare one because I had been thinking it'd be cool to have a real one to read.

I don't know am I being paranoid? Reading has never been my strong point.

Greetings EyeSoulAtion,
I had just realized an opportunity I had not long ago to purchase a king James bible. I passed on it because I assumed I could read online and that I'd get it later, with finances being so rough lately.
I recommend having at least one Bible which you regularly use for reading, say a chapter or two a day. You can always pick up one for a $1 or $2 at a second hand bookshop. I have a reading plan that has three portions, two OT and one NT and the NT is repeated every six months. But I only read one of these portions each year, and it thus takes me three years to complete the reading plan. I also recommend having a few other Bible versions for reference and some reference books such as Strong's and other useful books. Bible study is a life long adventure.

I am not sure of this "rapture" concept. I believe in the return of Jesus to the earth to gather the faithful and then rule in the Kingdom of God on earth for 1000 years.

Kind regards
Trevor

Why do you think buying or not buying, a bible is a test?
Do you regularly read or listen to the bible being read?
What bible version does your church use?

Salvation is not dependant on owning or on reading any bible version.

May I suggest you get an app that will read the bible to you on your phone, preferably one that also displays the words being read, as this will help you with reading.

Please don't waste time worrying about tribulation, rapture, 2nd coming etc etc etc.
Instead concentrate your energies on knowing God, the Bible and theology.

Prepare yourself for having to explain what and why you belief, from memory to a hostile interrogator.
That way you will be prepared for what ever comes.

This was just your spirit yearning for the Bread of Life. The Lord is of love and grace. He wants you to know Him through His Word. There may come a day though whereby the only available Bible could be only the physical written ones. So yeah. Get one.

It's always good to have a physical Bible to read, but like others have said you can download the KJV online as I use
e-sword or find an app that reads the Bible for you as you follow along. I also have three other Bibles I study from. The important thing is to know what your relationship with Christ is all about through the Spiritual rebirth and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and that you are prepared to be caught up to Him when He returns.
