Before anyone gets the wrong idea, yes, I'm an atheist, but I'm not here to try and convince anyone else to follow my example. I'm just a guy that likes to get as wide of a range of experience as I can get, and that includes meeting all kinds of different people. Maybe it can be compared to social experiment. See what will come out of it, see if people are open minded enough to tolerate my being here in spite of some fundamental differences in where we place our faith.
Me personally, I don't discriminate against any individual based on ethnicity, sexuality, skin color or religion.
What I would like to do most on this forum is to offer some manner of answers to questions that some believers may have about someone like me. I commonly see religious people wondering where an atheist such as me would get my morals from, and then there's lots of people who thinks that an atheist only wants an excuse to commit sin, that sort of thing. Then there's the deeper aspects, questions about the origins of the universe. The intellectual range of the questions is quite wide, and I'll attempt to not be condescending in my answers in any way. A question is a question, and I'll answer.
There's lots of religious people who got no beef with anyone of a different belief or lack of belief, but there's also lots of the opposite. My goal is not to convert, but to rather to try and lessen the amount of misinformation that I see is in circulation, such as assumptions that criminals are atheists and contribute nothing to society, but I know not everyone has such prejudices. Some may just be curious as to what I get motivation, a feeling of purpose and meaning from, and I'd be glad to share, without getting into an existential debate. I don't want to make you lose your faith, or disrupt your inner peace that you have within your religion.
If I notice that it starts going into some sort of religious debate, I'd rather halt it on the forums and continue such a discussion in private where it's not causing any conflict.
I hope you will see that I do not come out of malice, but rather with an idea of that people can be brought together by differences just as well as they can by similarities.
Looking forward to talk to you.
