Dude, step away from the bong. :lol Zero didn't say these things either. Ya gots to read carefully

Zero did indeed use the term "near".

We're simply asking if Zero meant the same thing as the apostles when they used the term "near" or if Zero's "near" means something different..

I'm still curious

I did? o_o LOL! I don't remember saying such a thing. *scratches head*

edit: Shilohsfoal cleared it up for ya.

I was the one who used the term near.
Ive been using it since the first seal was opened .

FANTASTIC!
Thanks for clearing that up!

So tell us, do you have the same meaning of near that Jesus and the apostles had, or is yours different?

My meaning of near would be a few years after Obama is gone.
Then I might know the year.Time will tell.

Gotcha... so when you say near, you mean something different from what you believe the apostles meant when they said "near".

That always fascinates me.

Xtruth: July 11th 2009 just seems soo farfetched to me. There were numerous of pasters stating at the end of 2008, the world Anti-Christ was going to cause the final tribulation. They put two and two together from the bible and while I admit, it made sense, there were tiny little loop holes. You have to understand that even the tiniest loop hole is deadly when trying to become a "prophet". You'd have to be 100% accurate... this is why only God and his word can and will be my prophet. =)

I've only given a "what if" myself. I've shown some ideas that are out there. I do believe these ideas are valid based on the evidence presented. I will be extra watchful at that time, but I never stated that I'm taking this to the bank.

Why do Christians (99.9%) call men foolish that look @ the signs N the cosmos & say they can see when the Second Coming is when they call men wise who did the exact same thing when realizing it was time 4 the 1st Coming?...just wondering

probably because Christians of every generation for the past 2000 years have been looking @ the signs in the cosmos, claiming they they point to a 2nd coming in their generation, and they've been all 100% wrong (except of Course for Jesus and the apostles).

Fool me once......

You do realize you're comparing the world from back then to the world that is today. In today's world "prophets" only speak to be heard for media purposes. Not all, but a lot. Rather it's to sell their book or just to be heard period. It's just the way this world is today. Again, not all, but a lot.

Even back then there were MANY false Christs out there, claiming they were The Messiah. This was why some had a hard time believing Jesus was THE REAL MESSIAH when he came in back then. Even up until his death you had some that denied him. Til this day people think Jesus was a fraud. >=(

edit: Just so you know parousia I didn't make that comment.

No I dont think you get me.
Not really.I just understand who Jesus is speaking too in the gospel and who the revelation of Jesus Christ is ment to be heard by.You could say it was a revelation of sorts.

My fellow forumers, we need to ask ourselves. If this is actually the real deal, what would you do? Would you drop everything and fight for what you believe in? Or would you sit there and go on about your business because you have family to feed and people/things to take care of (including yourself)? Think about it, you guys said Anti-Christ is not a man, but a system. You guys said all the signs have come, we're just waiting on this system which is around the corner. Could it possibly be that we've been in this the entire time?
In my spiritual understanding, I live in the realm, the understanding of TODAY! Every day is TODAY! Who has time to worry about tomorrow?

Matt 6:34
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. KJV

That said, I believe the spirit of Anti-Christ, existed in the garden of Eden in the serpent at the tree. Eve, then Adam partook of that spirit...we inherit this! The spirit of Anti-Christ is the "I" in me. My own arrogance and pride says "I" would be like the MOST HIGH. "I" would sit in the SEAT of God!

Understanding the "I" spirit in me, gives me to acknowledge that it was my sins, my greed, the Anti-Christ in me that KILLED Christ, not the Romans, not the Jews, not some 'system' we try to identify! With this understanding and acknowledgment, my flesh may be perplexed, and like Paul - wasting away in the middle of trials and tribulations but my spirit is at peace.

:( Yes...it is us that crucified Christ. He died for us, for our sins. That understanding allows us see that the "great city" "where also our Lord was crucifed" is not Jerusalem. The "dead bodies" of the witnesses will lie in the streets of the world which presently is the spiritual Sodom and Egypt. :yes

Revelation 11:8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

Jesus only said the day or the hour.He said nothing of the month or year.
Though I dont know the year now ,I could in the future. The near future perhaps.
Yes, I've seen people use this verse as a loophole for their insistence on predicting the year. Camping uses it quite often. If one understands the idiom and vernacular of the first century Jewish person, one would understand exactly what Jesus meant. Jesus is basically stating that one one knows, no one will know.

This means that we will know when He is already back. Many have seen Him already, He will appear to the resurrected saints that resurrect with Him, and so on.

Now I'm confused about your view even more.....Was the Revelation of Jesus Christ Meant to be heard by the people who first received the letters to the Churches or not?
