a shocker,

that is a great point. one thing that really erks me or pulls my chain is the when they look at it as a history book only. that to me is one of the biggest heresies i have ever seen. when the bible is taught like this it makes it irrelevent for todays world.

When one looks at the Bible as a self-help book, only taking out of it what seems relevant and ignoring the rest, false teachings become rampant in Churches and people believe they are sinless. The Bible has to be veiwed as the word of GOD, the HOLY WORD OF GOD, The authoritive WORD OF GOD. When the Bible is veiwed this way then there can be no misunderstanding as to what is acceptable and what is not.

Excellent!! :clap

Now this is a "real shocker"....

You'd be surprised at how many who claim to be "christian" will deny that.

Very true, but there's a difference between "commiting "A" sin and "LIVING" in sin. Many who claim to be Christians are living in habitual sin and see nothing wrong with it. One thing I have learned is that I can't even think about sinning without being convicted by the Holy Spirit. If that conviction is not there, then how can a person say "I am a Christian?" I had a man one time say, "I'm a Christian too." Then he used God's name in vain.

i love this post jon. jon the thing is when you have teachings coming from the pulpits; such as the once saved always saved; state this prayer after me and all of your past present and future sins are forgiven; what are people going to believe salvatin is? we want to blaim the people but people are taught that every person in a position of authority is placed there by god and they are not to be questioned or their spirit tested. they are only to be obeyed. where is this garbage written in the word of god? it isnt.

if christ is spoken of in truth then the truth is the stand. but if the truth is altered then where is the stand for the truth. we can not learn the word of god through a school or from man. galations 1:10-12

the final authority is not a man in the pulpit but the lord jesus christ.
