A thing can't cause itself, what caused evil?

If things can't cause themselves to exist, what caused evil to exist? Evil began in heaven from Lucifer, but how did evil begin in Lucifer's heart? Everything is caused by something else. Evil must be no exception. The bible says everything is caused by something else. Evil can't cause itself, so what caused evil? Lucifer's angels can't cause evil to begin to exist because they were not evil itself to begin with. If we say Lucifer's angels caused evil to begin, how did they do it without creating it out of nothing? Even if they did create it out of nothing, isn't that a contradiction to the Bibles logic that only god can create things out of nothing?

If Lucifer's angels caused evil to begin to exist, how did they do it & why did they do it? The bible says angels wouldn't be retarded enough to cause things like that for spite.

Also how did they cause it, if it didn't already exist? U can't cause something to exist that doesn't already exist unless u create it out of nothing.

I think this is where the concept of free will comes in. Without free will in order to selectively choose to love and place God first, love is non-existent. Choosing to not place God first is evil so I think it's a by-product of free will.
 
Evil is one of those subjects that the Holy Bible does not want us to dig too deep into.

God has told us in His Infallible Word of 66 Books, all we need to know about evil, but does not tell us how Lucifer became evil and fell

It is one Doctrine we do best not to try to fully understand, lest we fall into the same fate as Lucifer

What we do know, is that the God of the Holy Bible is Perfect, and Holy in His Character, so that He cannot be the origin of evil.

It is a great mystery, and must be left there.

Evil is not a thing, as some physical element that is created. It is a word that describes the acts of men who work against the will of God. Murderers, no matter how horrific their actual mode of killing someone, is an act against God's will. God has said that we should not kill one another. So doing so is evil! So, if anyone created the things that we call evil... that's man. The one who created the law that makes the works of man evil... is God.

Again, what do you mean by "evil"? The devil was lifted up with pride to such a degree he believed he could be equal with God, or, at least, entirely independent of Him. The devil, then, was profoundly self-centered. Is this, at bottom, what you mean by "evil"? It was out of the devil's deep selfishness that all of his pride, rebellion and evil arose.

Where, exactly, does the Bible say, "Everything is caused by something else"?

So man created evil the same way that god created matter & energy out of nothing?

The bible says nothing is self caused. If it isn't self caused, but is caused by something, then it must be caused by something else. That logic applies to everything.

If Lucifer's evil wasn't self caused, then Lucifer would've had to cause his own evil to begin into his own self. How can he do that if he was born evil? He can't cause something to begin in himself if it was always happening in him self.

no one is ever "born evil". "Evil" is something that one DOES, and not because we are "born" this way

Uh no. Man did not create evil, man merely did evil. As I stated before, evil is not something solid that is created, as is all that God created. Evil is a word, it's merely a word that we use to describe things that we see that people do that are against God's will for us. It is not a physical thing to be created.

However, if it makes your story better to figure out how we might blame God for being evil for creating evil, then you go with that argument. But I assure you that God did not create evil. However, He did create the law, that then allows us to define all that we do against God's law, as 'evil'.

Therefore, man, in doing what is against God's law did create what caused the effect that we call 'evil'.
