Based on what 'who' 'said? The quote he was responding to was yours. Are you referring to Jesus' words to the Jews concerning obedience to the laws and lawgivers over them at the time he was with us?

No, no. Just that in response to the argument that the Pharisees were political leaders, I think no Jews were the true political leaders in Israel during New Testament times, cuz the Romans ruled the entire region and were the real military and political power at the time.

Oi! Sometimes I feel so dumb that I think my brain doesn't work. LOL. Thanks for the correction. I guess it's true that we sometimes see what we want to see and not the reality of what is. Again, thanks and my apologies.
