Hey John,

Thanks for taking the moment to post. I like the way you move through scripture as an active, living word and not just wrote text.

So, you were a child of thunder too huh? I know your a bit older than me, but... it's funny you should mention your wife.. I was a heavy metal rocker party animal back in the 80's (yes, that was after my baptism) while my wife was more into Air supply and John Denver and never heard of MTV. Well, night before last I was lying in bed and VH1 Classic (Music TV) had a the rock classic awards and they actually had KISS (70's rock band) live! them guys had to of been 50 lol! It was funny, I was all excited and the wife... well, I'm sure glad that she loves me

Anyway, your post hit everything right on the mark to a T. Thanks!

Ohh, I'm sure some are wondering what this post has to do with Baptism.. Well, God's done a lot with me since the 80's and I dont' think he's done yet

Ahem . . . just remember that there are a few of us on this forum who have grown up with the Stones and are just as well preserved :-? My rockin' days may be over but I'm still lookin' to the one whose stone was rolled away.

LOL....mutzrein, nothing wrong with that!! It just seemed weird seeing them in a 'rock' concert at their age. Thats really what I meant.
Seems like i'm having to do a lot of back tracking lately.

Heh heh - I knew what you meant - just couldn't help myself. And BTW I am still rollin' along . . . It stops the moss gathering

Ha! Destiny and Mutz, you too really got me to chuckle this morning! I absolutly love it when the first thread I read for the day makes me smile :D

Actually, I haven't seen ole Mick. Did hear Emotional Rescue the other day on XM radio though  Man, talk about memories... I used to roller skate at the rink to that song... My foster mom Becky likes to tell the story about how I used to make all the girls cry at the rink cause I was so cute  I never did understand that :)

Hey Mutz, how old are you? I turn the big 40 on the 27th :bday:

Hi John,

I was re-reading this thread this morning, and I caught this in your post.

John wrote:
we both morning & evening, twice daily make a new commitment to our Master.

I just wanted to highlight it again. I think it is pleasing to the Lord.

The Lord bless you.

It is also Biblical:

Psa 113:3 From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the Lord's name is to be praised.

Congrats when the big day rolls around Stove!! Celebrate in style I say

I will be 56 in November. But I reckon I'm young at heart - trying to keep pace with my four kids - 17, 15, 13, 11. 8-)

I thought that was pretty cool :smt041

56 years young, That's great! Talk about keeping pace, I've got a 7 year old that I'll tell you, if I had a quarter of his energy, I'd be on the moon!

A gal from church turned 90 a few weeks ago. She doesn't look a day over 70, is sharp as a pin and still has a bounce in her step. She says it's from all them years of living right (as she points inside and look upward). What an inspiration!

Anyway,
A friend of mine from church was baptised last night! It was absolutly wonderful! He has such a great story how he was brought to Christ and he has such a soft heart. I am always in awe how God works and transforms lives. Amazing!

Yes I too can vouch for God's amazing grace. Although I cannot point to any 'right living' on my part I am so thankful to the Lord for my Dad who turned 91 this year. A more gracious man I have not known and who like the father to the prodigal, watched and waited until I came to my senses!

Hi, I wanted to comment on this post. I liked it much! :fadein: It brought back in memory of God's Amazing Grace in Spiritual DEPTH and deepness!

And Mutz is the prodigal who had the 'good seed' sown, and the 91 year old Father? How happy Mutz made his heart throb! Wonderful! Matthew 18:12-13

And the story of Luke 15's 'Two Sons'? Just a point or two about the one son & the Father ok?

Romans 8:1 tells us quickly what had finally taken place. 'No Condemnation!' And Luke 15:20-24 Tel's of full confession and repentance, and then what God the Father does. But notice the extra Truths in Luke 15:22!
"Bring forth the Best Robe and put it on him" & "Put a ring on his hand,.."

The Robe? See Isaiah 22:21 for the Garment of Christ's Righteousness! & Isaiah 61:10 "He has Clothed me with the Garments of Salvation, He hath Clothed 'me' with the ROBE of (HIS!) Righteousness." & Matthew 22:10-14 for the Born Again requirement. (Bolts wanted to just stay on the thread, so I will not get into the other son that already had the Garment, and the Ring on his finger)

OK: The Ring on the finger? We needed to see the 'perfect acceptance' of the 'repentant' Luke 15:21 by God!
Again Romans 8:1. Yet, lets see the meaning of the Ring, Seal, Signet Ring? (Sealing study) Just an little bit, OK?? (REMEMBER Matthew 4:4!)

In Genesis 41:39-44 we find Joseph having 'Fine linen' and .. 'Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph's hand' and told him .. 'only in the throne will I be greater than thou'.

Now: In 1 Kings 21:7-8 we see that these letters are 'sealed', no mention here of a ring, but notice that they are 'SEALED WITH HIS SEAL'. And that they were Written 'in Ahab's name,..'

And in Ester 3:10-12 we see.. 'And the King took his Ring from his hand, and gave it ... according to the writing thereof, and to every people after their language; in the name of the King Ahasuerus was it written, and SEALED WITH THE KINGS RING."[/u]

One more: Ester 8:8 There is to be NO REVERSAL. *Read Daniel 6:14-22 (compare Daniel 12:1 with Revelation 7:3's Final tally!) And NO, it is not over yet!

You see Mutz, what you do for an old man's memory?
