Very interesting thread, guys!
I wonder if I could ask a question?
Does this seem right to you?
I always have thought that the plowing was kind of up to me.
And that if I put my hand to the plow and then turned back, I was not fit for the Kingdom.
I had thought that it was kind of like...He seems to point something out to me that is not good. (A rock, a hard place, a weed) Then it is my job to agree with what He sees and directs me to address with Him and plow it under.
I don't know...what do you think?
That's right!
This reminds me of a verse
Ok maybe 2 verses;)
Jeremiah 4:3 For thus saith the LORD to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns.
Hosea 10:12 Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.
In the OT men were left to obey on their own. But in the NT it is not that way. It is God who sows.
But the principle is much the same! We have the ability to betray our own flesh and follow God. We can plough under the thorns that choke out the word! How drastic are we willing to be?

Will we trust Him, or not?
