I think you have to click on something to allow permission.

wondering, for_his_glory, What is the procedure again for gaining access to unmoderated forums? I forgot.

To gain access, please edit your Profile Preferences and select yes to the Politics group.

It seems you already did this, but can not use the like button. When you clicked on yes did you scroll down and click on save?
