Afraid to be a man?

My husband is a good man. I am very thankful for him. One problem I see is that he will not stand up for himself. He works 11-12 hours a day 7 days a week. He won't ask for a day off and he's basically doing the work for free. I told him how i felt about his job but he just gets upset or changes the subject. His boss is taking advantage of him. He comes home complaining about not spending time with me. I do the best I can. I'm frustrated because he won't talk to this man and negotiate less hours for the pay he's getting. He honestly doesn't need to be there all day. He works in the hot sun, he doesn't have any breaks or lunch and since he gets a ride home, they take him home whenever they feel like it. And he hates conflict. I think his mom sucked all of the manliness out of him when she was raising him. Its just that what should be there isn't there. Has anyone else ever experienced this?

Sounds like your husband has a fear of rejection, and a fear of confrontation problem. Sometimes this is a spirit and sometimes not.
I always liked this Scripture KJV
Isaiah 51:12
I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die.

I love this one too.
Ezekiel 3:9
As an adamant harder than flint have I made thy forehead: fear them not, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.

These men & women are nothing but flesh, mortal flesh, he has to realize this. If he is Christian get him to read these.

Scriptures

Almost every book in the Bible has a "fear not" in it. The enemy uses fear, but God would have us to have faith in Him. Although Job was a righteous man and would not speak evil, he open the door through thoughts of fear for the enemy to work in his life. "For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me. I was not in safety, neither had I rest, neither was I quiet; yet trouble came" (Job 3:25-26). In other words, he said, "I did what was right, but I was afraid that God would not take care of me." In contrast, Jesus challenges us to have faith. "Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive" (Matthew 21:21-22).

Here is a sampling of Scriptures

The first question that comes to my mind is, how would it affect you and your family if your husband lost his job? Is he the primary bread winner in the family? Is it possible that he feels like he hasn't got much choice considering the state of the economy? His obligation to his family could be forcing him to feel he must accept the situation out of the fear of losing his job and letting his family down. How supportive would you be of him if he did stand up and as a result his company let him go. What are his options/opportunities for other employment if that should happen?

Food for thought.
