Eph 1:

11In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

Who worketh all things after the counsel of His own will, and not after the counsel of mens imaginary freewill.

99.9 % of religions and people today reject this most sacred Truth, for we will not let God be God [ a figure of speech] but He is God anyway, and He is in control of all things, all things go according to the counsel of His own will..

His Kingdom, all that He is, ruleth over all ps 103:

19The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.

Or His counsel ruleth over all..That is time, space, angels the good or bad, men the righteous and wicked and all creatures in the air, under the sea, on the ground.

He does as He pleases scripture says ps 115:

3But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.

Many deny this kind of God, and teach a god that is a bystander and His creatures and their freewills do as they please, His will being subordinate too theirs, as He is their genie in a bottle. How many remember I dream of Jeannie ? Thats how religious people think of God, for He serves their wills and them His ..

We as men use words such as contingency, perhaps, and chance, words fit for unbelievers in the True God, but those of us who have been blessed, we say " He that worketh all things [ not some things] but all thinks after the counsel of His OWN WILL !"

Now the word worketh in eph 1:11 is the greek word energeō and means:

to be operative, be at work, put forth power

to effect

to display one's activity, show one's self operative

To display one activity is akin to His Purpose, the word right before worketh in our text verse, which is the word prothesis which means:

a setting forth of a thing, placing of it in view, the shewbread

Gods power is being set forth, displayed in the outworking of His own counsel, in all things...

Do you desire today to set up your own will against His ? Those who teach freewill of man, thats what you are doing !

Yup! Everything is happening for a reason...and His name is Jesus. The way to blend mans will and Gods will is to know the Imperial Paradigm: We are all visible expressions of the invisible in divine evolution.

:D

Ephesians 1:11... I Love it.

Again huh?:)
No problem with 'only' the Inspiration above! The Godhead knew in Eternity who would be saved & who would not even stay saved & who would not even get that far!

But ask yourself the question, when Christ told the lame lost sinner to arise & pick up his bed that thy sins are forgiven thee, (you look it up for exact rendering! Matt. 9:5, Luke 5:20 on) and as you say & teach, he was once saved always saved at with only BELIVING! Why then do you think that that is not all of these OSAS ones being healed of all of their diseases? You all teach that you are now SAVED BY ONLY BELIEVING, yet, you all are at present, dieing.

And Christ's Virgin Vineyard of Isa, 5! How on earth can your false doctrines not find these DIVORCED ONES not OSAS? Matt. 23:38, Matt. 25:10, and on & on! Rev. 3:9 even! See Rev. 2:5 for satans rubber bullets
of the OSAS ones false teachings.

The counsel of His own will does not mean God controls everything like a puppet master. According to God's plan, mankind is called out of the darkness into His marvelous light...that we might know Him and worship Him in Spirit and Truth.

glory:

The counsel of His own will does not mean God controls everything

Says what scripture ? Show us a scripture that says God does not control everything as eph 1:11 implies..

Eph 1:

I was wondering if you would clarify this for me. Are you meaning that God wills everything that happens?

Hey SBG57,
Sorry that I wasn't more clear in my question. My apologies. What I'm asking is are you interpreting this scripture to mean that God wills everything that happens? If so would you help me understand your point with an explanation?

Context, context, context!

Ephesians 1:9-14
9 God has now revealed to us his mysterious plan regarding Christ, a plan to fulfill his own good pleasure. 10 And this is the plan: At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ—everything in heaven and on earth. 11 Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us in advance, and he makes everything work out according to his plan.
12 God’s purpose was that we Jews who were the first to trust in Christ would bring praise and glory to God. 13 And now you Gentiles have also heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago. 14 The Spirit is God’s guarantee that he will give us the inheritance he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. He did this so we would praise and glorify him.

He is talking about BELIEVERS here--those who choose to follow after Jesus Christ by their own free will! God has a plan he is working out for His own pleasure, concerning His own people, the Body of Christ, known before the foundation of the world.

He worketh all things[which means all things] after the counsel of His Will. I know many of us today would set our own wills against and above His Will, but it ain't happening, not in this life and the one to come. God has ordained all the events of time as an act of His absolute Sovereignty, and as a consequence, He rules them all per ps 103:

19The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all. It, His Kingdom rules over your freewill proud man. God's will determines all events and not our freewills.

God determines who shall be rich and who shall be poor, and this goes for the natural world as well as the spiritual. A very godly women prayed once these words 1 sam 2:

6The LORD killeth, and maketh alive: he bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth up.

7The LORD maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up.

These are called merisms, sayings in which two words on extreme ends of the scale are used to express everything on the whole scale; For God rules and controls and ordains our lives and deaths, with all in between.

Have we been made rich in Christ per rev 2:

8And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;

9I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.

Behold, its by God working all things after the counsel of His own will. Are we rich in Faith ? James 2:

5Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?

These have been chosen to be rich in Faith, we cannot choose ourselves to be rich in Faith and Heirs of the Kingdom.

God determines who shall rule and who shall be ruled, even on our jobs, God determines who are supervisors are, their personalties and temperaments and etc, even their race.

It was God who determined that America would have its first African American President. Everything has been ordered and ordained by God's own will. The First day of this worlds existence was determined by God's own will gen 1, and the Last day of its existence in this natural order has been determined by God.

God has appointed a Day by which He will Judge the world in righteousness by a Man whom He has appointed acts 17:

31Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

Thats day is coming, and will not tarry one second beyond the day God has appointed.

God will hold all men accountable for their religious philosophies, that opposed His word of Truth..

"ALL THINGS"...once you move beyond the simplicity of it, it gets complicated. Causes you to take a deeper look into what Omniscient, Omniexistenct, and Omnificient means. And we have not even opened the WORD OF THE CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE YET...aside from the sweet consistency of the Ephesians 1:11 Oracle.

My sheep hear my voice - Jesus.

Eph 1:

11In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

s57:

There's a good passage!

It's wholesome and sobering and humbling for us to bow before the revealed will of God in his Gospel purposes in Christ.

The Absolute Sovereignty of God is set forth in the creation of all things, [anything with existence, no matter what] to include the vessels of wrath, read what the deeply enlightened Solomon wrote prov 16:

4The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

Also rev 4:

11Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

For you see, God has created all things according to the counsel of His own will, for the display of His Absolute Sovereignty over all things, wickedness to be included.

Many objectors to these eternal truths abound even in religion, by those who profess Godliness and the Knowledge of God, and they teach contrary and say there are many things exempt from the "all things" but may God be True and every man a LIAR..

Man most certainly has a will, but it's not free from God's regulation at anytime, for the will of God regulates and determines all of His works, and man is one of His works !

ps 138:8

The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.

So to believe in the one and True God, as David does above, who is ever Blessed, is to believe in Him who worketh all things [ our wills] after the counsel of His own will eph 1:

11In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

Isa 14:

24The LORD of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand:

25That I will break the Assyrian in my land, and upon my mountains tread him under foot: then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders.

26This is the purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth: and this is the hand that is stretched out upon all the nations.

27For the LORD of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul it? and his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?

Isa 46:

10Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

11Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.

And if men would only reverence God, they would acknowledge it !

But men do not acknowledge God's Supremacy by nature, listen to James 4:

13Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will [freewill] go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:

14Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

15For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.

16But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.

Notice vs 15, what men ought to say, if the Lord will, we shall do this or do that ect..

Notice " we shall live " Thats what freewillers say, its up to their will if they shall live, for they put their wills over and above God's will in this matter, simply because they believe it can be God's will for one to be saved, but if they are not willing, their will prevails against God's will..

Thats evil and boasting...and shows little reverence for God..

Eph 1:

Dear savedbygrace, God does indeed control everything, but He does not cause everything. For example, God does not force people to sin, nor is He the author of confusion, but of peace, and of love, and a sound mind. God cannot do evil, as God is ALL HOLY and ALL GOOD. God's Sovereignty cannot be pitted against God's Goodness and God's Mercy, for He willeth all to be saved (2 PETER 3:9).

Dear savedbygrace, The NT says God does not cause of the confusion that is

evil. "For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches

of the saints" (1 Cor. 14:33 NKJV).

God is light and in Him there is no darkness at all. God worketh all good things.

God worketh no evil. Fallen angels and sinners work evil, according to their

own choices. God gave all men and all angels free will. All men misused their

free will and fell into sin. Only God's sovereign grace can save those who repent

and seek God's mercy and forgiveness. There are some who will be saved, and

God still wills to save all (2 Peter 3:9). There is no problem with God. He

doesn't predestine evil. He works only good things, as the Father of lights

(James). In Erie PA Scott
