AHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Grandpa is deaf and while he's visiting the television needs to be VERY LOUD. He's barely

ambulatory, has a severe speech impediment as a result of a stroke, so TV is his window

on the world.

Over time, about 5 minutes, insanity sets in.

Ive got some old computer speakers complete with volume control but I cant

figure out how to set it all up. Gramps will go for his own little speaker but not

headphones so that is not an option.

The television is a couple of years old and has all kinds of plug ins, but Im no

teckie.

Any ideas?

rca cords or look for the headset plug and try that.

with rca cords you can use the vcr or dvd to do the same.

how old is that tv? if its the old type of audio cables then you will have to use the older speakers for a stereo that has the connections.

Radio shack is just down the road... Take a photo of the 'TV plug in area' and get Gramps a speaker!

Had it about two years.

Obviously Im leaving out some step

av cords aka rca, computer speakers wont work.

you have to buy stereo speakers. go to store that sells home audio and entertaiment systems that is the only way that will work.

How To Connect Speakers p, td, li { font-family: arial,u; font-size: 9pt; margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; word-spacing: 1px; } On most current Samsung TVs, if your television has audio out jacks, you can not connect speakers directly to them. Instead, you must connect the audio out jacks to a standard stereo amplifier or receiver, which in turn are attached to a set of speakers.
On most TV sets, the two audio out jacks (L and R) are grouped with a video out jack and labeled AV Out or Monitor Out. When you connect the audio out jacks to a stereo amplifier, you do not need to connect the video out jack to anything. An illustration of audio out jacks is below:
