theres no restriction on our faiths save in afghanistan and when it interferes with work or also conversation is asked to stop.

in short.

An elderly lady in our church is an intercessor in prayer, and correspond with military chaplains in Afganastan as well as some who were in Iraq. She was told by several that Obama ordered tham to not pray in Jesus' Name. She relayed this to our congregation asking for prayer for our chaplains.

IM IN, i have seen a few chaplians do that but really most dont. why? because its like this. we are to invite them to the Lord not force them. so do say if you dont like im not pushing him but i ask for tolerance. most that dont and are in christ say that they wont make anyone listen to the word if they dont want too. remember the army and military got it from the older christian only/primary culture. we have since moved left.we now have muslim/jewish chaplains and i think one hindu chaplain. do we not allow them to pray in open type deals ie convocations or memorial services? remember if we dont then we just established a state religion. the chaplian corps is for all and of all faiths and if one cant be found for you. the chaplian will coordinate a way for you to worship. FRANKLY i dont have any problem with that.I want them in christ but we dont NEED a THEOCRACY!!!

A few years ago when I was in Iraq we (US Army-FOB Spieker) were only allowed one Bible and packages sent to Iraq could only contain one Bible. There were a few other restrictions but very tolerable. What REALLY, REALLY irked me was how the Muslims forced their religion upon us with their loud civil defence speakers blasting their prayers through the day.:pray
ah yes i remember that but well we were and are in a muslim country.but i do see your point. they can tell us if they wanted to but not the other way around, but that wasnt our mission to win souls.
