MBS, you've taken a big step here and maybe part of it brings your friends into the zone of testing. I'm okay with that. Know this though, the promise "I will never leave you, nor forsake you," is true.
Lots of Christians may want to separate a man from the Love of God because of the declarations that have been heard, but really? That's not what is happening. We don't want to see you hurt is why. Strange perhaps, but the sure knowledge that Jesus is the only way can cause an "interference pattern" in our vision. And now I'm thinking about the way that light travels through slits and experiments that you're familiar with but I'm talking way above my own knowledge and speaking off topic (maybe) about wave and particle characteristics of light...
But to try and pull it back, each person that you meet has their own vision of what is being said. One may encourage you to continue to consider things, "on your own," even while knowing that this is not possible, that God is with you and our Shepherd will leave the 99 and seek the 1. Another may greet you with astonishment, not understanding the nature of the hurts that can be given even with the best intentions.
To all, say I, be it known: We are to welcome strangers with the sure knowledge that we too were strangers. Every one.
MeatballSub, I am praying that you be given wisdom in discerning hearts and that you are healed, in the hurts and that the broken places are bound up as you continue your God directed relationships with those whom are given to you as friends. I also like your comments and sincerity I hear. There are "noise filters" at work, but I do hear well and thank you for them.
