Evidence suggest extinct crocodiles were herbivores, which aligns with the biblical perspective that animals were originally vegetarian.

There was at least one later crocodile that was a plant-eater, and some where where likely omnivores. Which is not surprising; we have several members of the carnivores that are vegetarians.

Evolution has some funny turns. There was another crocodile that galloped instead of crawling.

It was a very diverse group, which diverged in many different ways from the earliest members of the family.
