What local paper ?the media is online and many no longer print .my county had a local paper its in name only .I don't care about the three counties it covers but only the one I live in.

Its part of the conglomerate ,Gannett news ,the media is part of the problem

Back when I was a full blown conservative, the underlying current of thought was "Someday we'll have to use our guns to kill the hordes." There were secretly acknowledged social/political divisions that justified an us vs them that would probably cause a "call to arms." These divisions fell along racial/political/economic lines. Economic collapse being the primary focal point.

Lobbyists and bank inflationists are preying upon the people. The average person keeps moving backward, and doesn't know why. They strike out randomly. Polemics take advantage of their distress by directing people's wrath at whatever targets the polemics don't like.

I wouldn't be surprised if the states voted to go their separate ways.

We don't want this kind of arguing and accusatory language being used here.

We are God's kids...God is our King. No voting or debate about what or who is best. King Jesus is in charge.

This Earth isn't our home, and it doesn't contain our home country. There's no way to fix it. So why argue about it?

I,was stating my position .

The facts ,my,wife's health is bad,she may have dementia ,they have one test to eliminate,if that doesn't show the cause then a ct scan ,that's how they test for Alzheimer's.which is terminal

I'm unable in to take care of her and keep my house ,Xmas?stuff it.

Then the article I read about the higher level pentagon covering up the facts.my,point was to show the parties care for themselves not us,I,can add the va b.s..
Unlike you im mandated by law to be loyal,retirement doesn't exempt me from,the military legal codes.I can't call the potus names,where my,uniform and take sides. In it or disrespect the anthem or flag.
So when I posted the war stuff my mind was on what the he'll did I serve for?

You need to pm,Jeff on his loss of his kid,I will give you perspective on how hard holidays can be ,or papa zoom who has said on fb it takes all his strength not to cry in church and he can't function for days after his loss .

God never said it was gonna be easy .that's my statement expanded on Xmas stuff it.

To date . my,wife had her right shoulder replaced ,her ovaries ,being cancerous ,near metazation removed ,neuropathy unchanging in her fingers,dementia is a possibility in causing that .

Aside from dental work .I don't blame God ,I,get bothered by how people react to my statements around the holidays and also life for me.cliche or Just don't get it.
Until one goes through it,one hasn't s clue,I'm guilty too.isolated in part because of work ,and the above .

Ya lost me.
Christmas can be a very difficult season for many and we are always being called to have compassion for those who are hurting.

Personally, I'm a huge advocate of healthcare for all because it lines up with the way i understand scripture. My faith moves me to make a difference in the world around me and one way i can do that is through my vote, and it's difficult to do that without entering the extremely vitriol political realm. Just last week i was accused of being a libertard because i opposed violence if Trump is removed from office.

jasonc has served our country and fought to keep us safe. He has seen and experienced horrible things that no man should have to see or experience. The least we as a country can do is provide decent health care and frankly, the VA can be a joke at times. And guess what, you have to enter the political jungle to address it. Meanwhile, our servicemen and woman suffer.

So i don't really see this as Gods fault. What i do see, is it's the Churches fault because we, the church have lost the core values of Christianity which in part, is looking out for the vulnerable.

I may call ,taking my wife to the doctor in,an hour .just got hit with a lot this week .

She told me this week of the news ,days where food is scarce but not starving ,just if it gets worse I can't make it .

I'm not staying alone ,probably will visit Okeechobee ,I may insists a ghost town visit on the way back two near it.last year it was the old Okeechobee that you saw photos from .

Where does Scripture say that healthcare is to be mandated by government? Yes, Scripture says we are to love one another, care for one another, help those in need but nowhere that I am aware of does it say that government is to mandate it. What I see happening is those promoting government control are waiting for government to do it rather than doing what Scripture instructs us to do.

Sadly the va has shown me that feds won't but sadly the church and others who could care won't .

I'm blessed in that I can ask for help,but the level i might need may be beyond the council should that come .the council helps a lot with food and housing as best as they can and with other needs.two or more veteran homes have been built .

For the record, I'm guilty too. I don't spend all of my expendable income helping the poor or the needy. I have never even offered to pay for someone's healthcare needs. I have on occasion given a little to help someone that asked. I have a certain amount set aside in my budget for charitable giving. I have on occasion purchased a bag of groceries for the poor, donated to the food shelf, etc., but I have never done it till it hurts.

To answer your question requires biblical discernment.
Read the entire good Samaritan story. I never caught this until this year, but Jesus teaches us to be the good neighbor. It's not about who our neighbor is, but instead, it's about us being " that" neighbor.

With this understanding, go over these three items. Read the first one very careful as it addresses your concerns. We can bring the teachings of Jesus next to their rabbinical teachings as well.
