  • Focus on the Family

    Strengthening families through biblical principles.

Focus on the Family addresses the use of biblical principles in parenting and marriage to strengthen the family.

And Some People Wonder Why

What I'm focusing on is that this arguing over politics will destroy the good stuff that comes from Christian groups.

So we ain't gonna have it.

Jeff from experience the state is horrobke at it .I,.can post articles on the va alone .imagine my wife dying before the approval to treat her diseases .its common with the va .they despite how much money is given to them simply don't get better .

Not that charities can't have problems .just that one can't make one care and on both systems a budget is made ,the state can't fund it all and will ration ,the charities will be better at it but are also limited ,the law of commons doesn't apply to them.

I understand. My step brother served and had cancer. His health is so bad i doubt he will live to see 55.
The VA has improved, but before some of the recent reforms, his story mirrored what we heard in the media.

I'm guilty of not listening and believing him. It took the media to expose the issue at a national level before i realized my step brother was telling the truth.

John,
That's a good article. I have friends from church that i would deem radical Trump supporters. He posted a video of some fellow threatening that civil war was eminent and if Trump were removed for any reason, blood would be shed. He said this will a glimmer in his eye.

Knowing this man is a member in our church, i made a comment on how violence was not the correct path. He then went on to tell me about the malicia and how the NRA had x number of members who would pick up arms etc. He was drunk with the blood of his fury.
I
I repeated violence was not the answer and was attacked as a libertard from his friends and family.

Politics can blind people when they get sucked into the rhetoric and it can ruin friendships. They want to talk at you, not with you. If you try to talk with them, you get attacked.

I don't blame politics. I blame people.

Imagine if every believer actually did everything they could to help those in need. The needy would be taken care of. But we're not satisfied with that. We see it as unfair so we want to force even the unbelievers to pitch in even if it is against their will and in the mean time we only do a little while we wait for government to take over.

The burden should be spread across the entire community ( U.S. citizens).
Our country is based on biblical principals. Did you read the articles i gave you?

That didn't make any sense to me. Can you clean up your grammar and try again?
Sorry and thanks.

The problem is that given the fact as,Medicare are a tax,the supreme court ruled the taxed and payment system called social security aren't private property meaning they can without cause stop paying the beneficiaries.

A bank legally can't deny you, right to your minru without due process ,meaning you got it ilegakky ,or its part of a crime ,evidence .

How does one tax the poor into wealthier positions ?I just paid the irs!

Next the founders wanted local state funded aid as a last resort

Its not so much a matter of other countries doing public health care for charity reasons, but rather that it is simply cheaper to do health care through the government. They cover their entire population for half the price paid in the USA, and many of them have better longevity than the USA.

None of them are perfect, of course, but longevity statistics are on their side.

They don't ,I wouldn't qualify for ss.you, save ,have retirement they reduce benefits .

The also don't balennce their budgets .ration health care .my dad would die in Britain as he can't wait three months to see a neurologist for his type of elipsepsy.

Our rate is 22 day ,

I'm skeptical the va there will improve

This fighting over "What should be done" and "What should happen" and "How it should be paid for" is going to destroy what you are trying to improve.

I think it's time I give up my NRA membership. I don't want to be associated with that stuff anymore......another worldly pillar of mine that needs demolishing.

I like New Zealand's 4 tiered system. The first tier is free medical for all. The second tier is government medical insurance. 3rd tier private medical insurance. 4th tier cash.

i don't think so - the article is anti-conservative and fairly inflammatory and trying to scare people into thinking there will be armed conflict

trump - the strongest truest republican politicians - and trump's supporters in the media do not promote violence - they all promote following the law and taking disputes to court or the appropriate venue

maxine waters and other dem politicians do promote violence in the form shown in these 3. videos

some here posted how conservatives they know promote violence - imo that is not typical conservative behavior - but it is typical angry behavior

i suggest to angry conservatives that they start listening to calm and reasoning christian news sources and avoid any inflammatory non-christian/anti-christian news sources - iow if it's inflammatory it's probably a corrupt news source imo

true news should be revealing not inflammatory

Ok...
But finger pointing isn't going to cut the rhetoric down at all...it's only going to increase the tensions and encourage defensive and offensive behavior.

I'm a little slow today...way to many irons in the fire! I don't recall seeing that in the article, but to your point, fighting rarely if ever bears out what or who is right and violence is even worse.

Calmer heads need to take charge, but that won't happen as long as your dealing with hot headed sheeple who are fed rhetoric designed to incite anger.

This is why our leader is so important. He sets the tone. As long as a leader continues to incite anger from his base, calmer heads loose their voice. This is why scripture says Gods voice is in the still small voice.
1 Kings 19:11-13

We cannot ignore the political issues of our day and i agree with you on what we should not do. However, we need an alternative that we may do something.

Biblically, what do you think we should do?
