Stay as far away from politics as possible.I'm a little slow today...way to many irons in the fire! I don't recall seeing that in the article, but to your point, fighting rarely if ever bears out what or who is right and violence is even worse.
Calmer heads need to take charge, but that won't happen as long as your dealing with hot headed sheeple who are fed rhetoric designed to incite anger.
This is why our leader is so important. He sets the tone. As long as a leader continues to incite anger from his base, calmer heads loose their voice. This is why scripture says Gods voice is in the still small voice.
1 Kings 19:11-13
We cannot ignore the political issues of our day and i agree with you on what we should not do. However, we need an alternative that we may do something.
Biblically, what do you think we should do?
Paul told Timothy not to get involved with politics. (2 Tim 2:4)
From Daniel we learn that God sets up leaders or deposes them...leave room for God's wrath. Don't get caught up opposing God by voting for the wrong people.
God knows the end as well as the beginning of a matter...He knew me just as well when the foundations of the world were laid as He does today. I'm not even going to try to change His mind....I want Him to change mine.
If you oppose our leaders, you oppose the One who put them in that place. And I don't understand how people reconcile this in their heads with the rhetoric they state.
It's unfathomable. It's hypocrisy at it's finest.
Our political leaders have so little to do with our individual lives...I don't understand how your average person gets so wound up that they forget all about Jesus and absolutely defy everything He stood for.
Come outside of the politics...there's nothing good there any more. Eustacood...but not anymore.
Maybe a Christian could do something on a small scale...but in instances like Kim Davis...not any more.
So like I said...it's time for all Christians to leave the political games to the heathens.
