What is there to unpack? There is no mention of Adam and Eve consuming anything, other than possibly fruit, prior to the fall while they were in the garden.

I do believe some animals were driven to extinction. Its about food dominance and this is something progressive. Today, in this day and age, there are animals going extinct.
